Jan (jan130) | 2721 comments When you get to them Lisa, I hope you enjoy! My sister recently read the whole series and loved them! Happy reading.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 303 comments Thanks Jan. I'm thinking I will, I like what I read in ASTR.

Debby *BabyDee* | 812 comments A fan of MB, especially the Slightly Series. I too loved Slightly Scandalous (Bedwyn Saga, #3) by Mary Balogh Slightly Dangerous (Bedwyn Saga, #6) by Mary Balogh . However, I became more fascinated with The Huxtable Quintet Series. Couldn't put those down.

I haven't gotten to those yet. They're on my to-be-read list though. Good to know you liked them so much.

That is interesting I think that is what I need a break from the characters. I was really pleased that Lauren was able to turn aside the nastiness and bring it back on them without stooping to their level that really showed her depth of character.

Yea, I thought she was marvelous in the scene where she meets them, especially. Slightly Married gives just a bit of insight on the Bedwyns perspective into the affair. I didn't like them either, but I do think Kit behaved pretty dishonorably toward Frija during their summer of passion, despite having honorable intentions at that time.

Yes there is no denying that. I took a long while to warm to Kit.

Me too. He was a hard one like, but he seemed to be good for Lauren. She was the shining light of the book.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 303 comments I have a bit of a different perspective of Kit. Yes, he did act fairly dishonourably at the beginning of the book but he was at a time of his life that he was ready to "grow up" and change and Lauren was just the right person to guide him in the right direction. I think he was genuinely sorry for not being forthcoming earlier and did go through a lot of personal growth to become a good match for Lauren.

I enjoyed that both of Kit's scandalous behaviours fighting in the park, swimming in the pond? had honourable intentions. These showed he had the promise to grow.

Yes that's how I felt about Kit too.

It took me a long time to warm up to Kit, and I am not sure that I fully did. His only saving grace was how he helped Lauren enjoy life and come into her own. I didn't like how he convinced her in the beginning that he was taken with her, making her feel special, then deflated her reluctant-to-inflate balloon by saying he just wanted to use as a form of revenge. I thought she deserved better than that, especially after her recent disappointment in Nicholas(?). That is when I set the book down for a couple of months. It did seem to touch a raw nerve for me. I set it down because of Kit and only picked it back up because of Lauren. Even after I picked it back up, I had issues with how he seemed to compare her capacity of passion to the women who had gone before, that he thought she wasn't passionate even though she had not been in the position to experience passion so all their intimacies were foreign and new to her. In the end, it did come around for me and thought they were well suited, but it was a difficult journey.

Jan130..check out that series on audible..the narrator is very good. When I want to audible, i try to use the same narrators especially with HRs.

I second the suggestion. I listened to and enjoyed all the books in the series (other than the prequels).
