Right, and that's why I suggest it. If you don't specifically need the class for your major, pass/no pass usually means it no longer counts in your gpa average. You can't put classes for your major to pass/no pass and usually there's like a credit limit for it, but if you dont think you'll pass it could at least help save your gpa. Some schools require pas/no pass preference to be declared ahead of time, but some let you change it pretty far into the course. It's something you could talk to an academic advisor about or look into the rules for at your university
