@ everyone quote tweeting or replying with “omg how cute😭”, etc. i know that you’re trying to show your support. but he’s a grown man who’s voicing his opinion, not for you to feel sorry for his mental handicap and call him cute with a crying face. this guy is voicing a political opinion. he wants to be taken seriously. i’m deadass, people that treat other people with mental handicaps like little kids aren’t doing a good thing. you’re speaking to an adult with their own thoughts and opinions, adults who are more than their down syndrome, or their autism, or their other mental handicaps. like, come on, it just makes me really angry?

i saw a lot of that in my high school too. i was the president of the special olympics support club at my high school so i worked with people with downs, autism, other forms of handicaps, etc. people from school were downright cruel. during the powderpuff genderswap game, my club attended to fundraise for our cause. (we sold raffle tickets) and some of the special needs people wanted to play too, so we dedicated halftime to the special olympics chapter and had a mini volleyball game on the court during halftime. people were AWFUL. literally AWFUL about EVERYTHING. i’m not gonna go into detail but basically some of the comments i heard were along the lines of “wow they brought the r——for a halftime show” and i was like... no. just. no.
