Why do people fall in love?
It gives them purpose. It gives them something to live for an something to die for. It gives them someone to lean on.
Personally, I've been in love. I loved the people that I did because I wanted to feel needed by them. I liked the security of a relationship and I liked having someone there for me.
The thing is, all relationships, every single one of them, ends in someone getting hurt.
When you're in a relationship, you either break up or get married. Breakups obviously hurt, but if you go the other route and end up married, either you divorce, or someone dies.
So, what's the point? Unbiased, scientific POV-- there is no point but reproduction.
Then, enter someone like me in the picture. Someone with an inability (and unwillingness, but lets keep things objective here) to bear child.
Then what? Again, no point except for the emotional benefits listed above.
So let's have a look at those now.
Purpose. Reason to live. Security. Having someone there. And, I'm going to add something more in here, basic human nature-- aka sex.
Love isn't the only thing in this world that can give you a purpose. Purpose can be obtained by doing something great, or by just being a really good person that numerous people depend on.
Love, again, isn't the only reason to live. Friendship. Family. A restless desire to beat 2048. Lots more. All valid reasons why you should live on.
Security, who says you can't protect yourself? Why do you need someone to depend on, to kick ass for you when you are perfectly capable of doing it yourself? Love yourself, seriously, you can do some crazy shit if you just let yourself.
Having someone there for you doesn't mean that person has to be romantically involved with you. They could be a friend, sibling, niece or nephew, even a pet. It all works.
It's basic human nature to have sexual desires, and that kind of thing is really hard to wish away-- in fact, it simply grows until taken care of. BUT, here's where my religious friends will disagree, sex doesn't mean love. If you're against things like that, or simply aren't willing to take the risk, it's perfectly understandable. There are other ways to satisfy yourself in which I will not get into here.
What I'm trying to say is that to many people, love is biologically pointless. Emotionally, of course, it does have benefits, but those aren't things that are exclusive to love. Sure, if you really adore the person and being with them, you obviously can be with them in ways other than romantically. It ends in hurt, no matter what-- and that's a fact of life. So, to all my single gals and guys out there-- it is seriously okay. It's not the end of the world that you don't have a significant other. Being single is pretty darn awesome, actually. And to all my peeps in relationships-- ride on. Be wit each other while you can, just brace yourselves. Reproduce if you want to, it is technically the reason why you're here. (overpopulation is a whole 'nother story but I'll get to that one day.)

Ayah's halftime report
Score: Lions 21, Seahawks 10.
DEFENSE- Sure, Suh is gone. But HELL YES. We are still on point. 2 interceptions, one sack so far and we are literally shutting down almost every attempt they make. Hallelujah.
OFFENSE- Levy's out, and Calvin hasn't really been targeted. Joique's running game is just a tad less than what I expected, but two words for ya-- AMEER. ABDULLAH. Aka, our saving grace later on this season. I can already tell. And Stafford doesn't suck too badly; yay!
PENALTIES- In abundance. As usual.
LEAUGE- Green Bay beat Chicago, which is eh-- I wasn't really rooting for either. On the plus side, Jay Cutler still sucks!
Postgames with Ayah
Final score: Chargers 33, Lions 28.
I'm going to say that somewhere in the second quarter, I convinced myself that there was no possible way we were going to lose this game. It was 21-3, and we were playing like bosses.
But, just like with the last Lions game I watched (Loins vs. Cowboys, week one of the postseason), my "oh my gosh we are totally going to win this" mindset was proven wrong.
The first half (specifically the first quarter) was amazing. Offense, defense, coaching was all perfect.
Don't even ask me WHAT the hell happened, maybe it was that hit Stafford took, maybe it was the sudden stop in blocking, but we fell apart.
Stafford, what the HELL happened to Stafford. Was he injured, did he lose motivation, did he realize he was still with Kelly Hall? Whatever it was, it was bad and needs to go away. Like, now. This guy has better shape up within the next 6 days or else we're beyond screwed for the game against Minnesota.
Another complaint on our QB right here-- WHY didn't he target Calvin? Calvin freaking Johnson, Megatron, probably the best wide receiver in the NFL, was targeted ONCE in the ENTIRE first half. What the fuck, Matt. What. The. Fuck.
Same goes with Theo Riddick. He saw the ball a whopping total of one time the entire GAME. Seriously, whether it's Caldwell or Stafford calling that shot, they'd better have a look at the big picture-- the big picture containing ALL of their players.
Ngada isn't no Suh, but he's okay. Well, he's better than okay, but he just isn't Suh. I'll admit, I expected worse. He's driven, and is trying his best, but trying your best ain't gonna cut it when trying to fill the huge, stomping (pun intended) shoes of Ndomukong Suh.
Props to Ziggy Ansah. I saw some plays I liked from him. Same goes to Darius Slay and Ameer Abdullah. (Who, by the way, may very well start in place of Joique Bell next week, and should not, under any circumstance, ever return a punt).
In short, we lost, because of some magical transformation that the team underwent at halftime.
True statement: Love is a strange thing. :P
