I was going to get it from the library, but ended up spontaneously buying it for $15 because I needed a book to read at work.

I will comment while reading it, but will not spoil anything...such as...I'm only a few pages in. but I can pretty much guarantee they'll make a movie based on this one. I can visualize the scenes based on the format and dialogue.

I'm on page 186. This book is so well written.

I'm on page 164. It's good I guess...The story is good...but in my opinion, this book is slightly overrated.

I got to pg 158 on day 1...I like it - I think I need to see how it ends to say whether or not it's overrated...

I'm on page 291. Really enjoying it...I particularly Starr's conversation with her father in chapter 10. Pretty sure I will go back and reread that part again after I finish the book.

I had no idea what OTP meant at the top of page 204. I googled it but still not sure that it really fits the context. Curious to know other thoughts on that...

I believe it means One True Pairing. I think she meant it as a compliment to her parents.

Finished it. I gave it 4 stars. I found the events at the private school distracting and unnecessary to the extent they were included. I might have given it 5 stars if some of that was left out...

I plan on finishing it this weekend.

I'm about half way through. Anybody find it confusing with all the characters? Because of all the characters I don't find all the characters as developed. Other than that I am really enjoying it.

I did a character web pretty early on because I was getting confused with all the family relations. It definitely helped.

I'm on part two now. I finally feel like the book is moving along. I wish we had more info on Carlos. I like how the characters are making more sense to me.

Yes!! I found that there were too many characters and I couldn't keep track! I find the story is just DRAGGING on and on! I'm over half way finished the book and I'm feeling like seriously...when will this end??

I agree, Lilith - I felt like that about halfway through. My rating at that point almost slipped down to a 3, but I liked the ending that brought it back up for me...

Luckily our next one is short : ) and I am so happy to see The Bell Jar coming up...kudos to whoever suggested that one...

I am excited to reread the Bell Jar. I read it over ten years ago. We have a few classics coming up.

I've never read it and I don't think I've seen the movie. But I have heard so many references to it over the years. It's high time...

Okay just finished. The last hundred pages went by so much faster. I'm glad Starr got to use her voice. I gave it four stars. I feel like the book could have been much shorter and told the same story. Overall it is an important book to read. I do think it is overhyped. I hardly read any bad reviews. I tried to find some.

The other day when I went to a movie, I noticed a poster advertising The Hate U Give coming to theaters in October! I'm going to go see it for sure! The main actress is Amandla Stenberg. She also starred in Everything, Everything...We read that book a while ago!

I can’t wait. I know they had to reshoot the movie.

It’s opens Thursday here!! I’m seeing it hopefully Friday.

It finally opens Friday here. I have the whole weekend off so I plan on seeing it on Saturday.

Okay saw it last night. At first the movie was slow, but got really good. The movie stayed true to the book. Amandla was so good as Starr.

I also saw it last night! I saw the 7 pm screening. I liked the movie. I agree that it really stayed true to the book. But I disagree with your comment about Amandla as Starr. I don't find her a good actress. I didn't like her acting skills in Everything, Everything either.

I was at the 6:45 pm showing and there were under 10 people in the theatre.

oh I'm surprised! That's not a lot, considering the movie just came out!
