The covers of I,Q fit a little https://www.goodreads.com/series/5937...Do you remember any other cases the kids solved?
Was there any fantasy or science fiction elements?
Any villains?
It's not the IQ series, although you're right about the covers.I can't remember any of their other cases, but there weren't any fantasy or science fiction elements. These books were strictly modern and pretty straightforward, if I'm remembering correctly.
A stretch, but a couple to check:Growler's Horn involves a stolen clarinet. It's part of a series.
The "Sizzle and Splat" series

What country were you in when you read the book? What language?
I just saw the last response, and it's the series that Growler's Horn is in, the Misfits, Inc. series! Thank you, Tab!!!

The covers were all really stark/graphic in style, usually black and one other prominent color (one was definitely black and bright blue).
The detectives were in high school, and I think they got started solving mysteries because a teacher asked for their help. As I said in the title, I think there were three kids, but it may have been four.
At least one of the kids was really into music and played an instrument, I think the saxophone. One of the mysteries dealt with a missing instrument or musician.
There are at least three books in this series.
That's about all I remember, but let me know if anyone needs more info and I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks!
