Miranda's parents not only hid the fact that she was adopted but also that she had two sisters, part of a multiple birth. Were they right or wrong to keep this secret, even when Miranda became an adult?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I don't understand her parents reasoning for not telling her that she was adopted. Why keep it a secret? Especially when she became an adult and could decide to look for her birth parents (and siblings) if she wanted to. Miranda's mother seemed very afraid that she would just throw them over and go look for her birth mother. I'm not sure why her dad would go along with it.

I get that they may have been nervous about the illegal adoption but once the child turned 18-years old, she deserved to know. Her mother was a neurotic mess.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments She sure was. I can understand why Miranda wanted to put some distance between her and her mother when she moved to California.

She was suffocating.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I agree, all around.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments I agree with everyone too. The fact that the adoption was illegal was a whole can of worms and with mommy being a neurotic mess, I can understand why daddy didn't want to upset things. Did Miranda have a right to know her parents committed a felony when they adopted her? I really think that dad should have sat her down at some point and explained it to her.
