thoughts on random powers

My first impression, the character has strong empathy for others, is deeply introspective, and has a quick temper. The power seems like a bit of a mix of those gone in a less than initially desirable way.
Do you read much in the genre? There is a series by Casey Glanders that starts with Big In Japan where the protag has dissimilar in many ways but parallel destructive powers. There is also Worm which has a great deal of depth to why powers exist in his story, and the metaorigins behind them are part of the story itself. Linking in case you haven't read, are interested.

Books mentioned in this topic
Big In Japan (other topics)Worm (other topics)
Through A Mirror, Darkly (other topics)
Have worked on several. But in the prior ones, both Through A Mirror, Darkly and those still in progress, there was a correlation between the powers and the personality. Metaorigin demanded it.
I decided to work on one where it was random what powers you had and what personality.
ugh.
