Since this is a challenge, I've thought of reading only those books, which nears good points, like, a book with 600 page would be better than a 590 or 1000, right?

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments There's a BR R&R in the group for Enlightened and Monarchy. I've signed up for Enlightened, you guys could do the same! Only, you'd have to hurry up. There are only 20 slots :)

Rae Lake | 2207 comments I signed up for Enlightened (Immortal Chronicles #1) by Samantha Britt

message 54: by Fuzaila (new)

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments Cool! We'll have BRs then. I'm just worried if the stress is going to pull me down, this being my second challenge. But well, reading books can't go wrong :D

A classic! Best way to start 😁

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Good morning! And happy July! I might get off to a little bit of a slow start, yesterday was crazy, but my team pulled it off! I am up for a team buddy read, and I will do my best to get as many extra buddy read points as possible, that has kind of been my downfall, but I think I have fewer other challenges going on this month, so I will see what I can do :-)

Yes that is an excellent plan. I agreed to this book as I knew I had an audio copy then groaned when I found out it was 45 hours 34 minutes long. I hope its a really good book lol

message 59: by Fuzaila (new)

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments Haha yeah! I have never done audiobooks. It would frustrate me if I couldn't get through it at my own pace. Hope you enjoy it! ☺

message 60: by Fuzaila (new)

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments Traded a whole night's sleep to finish my first book for the challenge. Going on with two more. What about y'all?

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Wow! Fantastic job! Finished a book, but I probably won't post my review until tomorrow or even Monday, I have a busy weekend :-)

message 62: by Fuzaila (new)

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments Thanks! You've done a great job too. We just need to make sure we don't loose the grip at the beginning itself! 😃

message 63: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments I'm well into my first book but I may throw in a few books while I read it as its such a huge book.

message 64: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments I'm going to do a re read of Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman tomorrow as I'm reading Gemina (The Illuminae Files, #2) by Amie Kaufman on the 3rd both have buddy reads so they will pick up some nice points being over 600 page reads

message 65: by Fuzaila (new)

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments Great! I also plan to re read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling , theres a BR too.

They are great to read as they have such high points and are so easy to read I just did them all a few weeks ago.

message 67: by Rae (new)

Rae Lake | 2207 comments Ok guys 2 books down today, Elina by M. Garzon Princess Dracula by John Patrick Kennedy , I had to break up reading Dracula by Bram Stoker , so much old english kinda makes my head spin...lol, not many points but its a way to start right!!

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Fabulous! Sorry I am off to a slow start this month, but my older kids were home from college and are now going back for summer school, so this weekend I've been moving kids, and next week I will be cleaning my house and switching my youngest son into his sisters old room, but I can do that with an audiobook in my ear :-)

Just A Ginger | 433 comments I gotta say I'm pretty proud of myself! I finished four books so far, and I'm working on Shades of Earth (Across the Universe, #3) by Beth Revis and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3) by J.K. Rowling and All-Night Party (Fear Street, #43) by R.L. Stine

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) You all rock! After this holiday weekend I will get back on track, I just have a lot going on, and I feel hung over and I didn't even drink, and that is simply not fair! LOL 😂

message 80: by Just A Ginger (new)

Just A Ginger | 433 comments Maybe if you drink, you'll feel better! lol Do it backwards :D haha

message 81: by Genevieve (new)

Genevieve (ode_to_readers) | 74 comments I feel a bit embarrassed that it doesn't even look like I've started 😂 I'm a quick reader so I will catch up! I've been so busy catching up on everything though but I'll definitely be doing more reading over the next few days!

I've been planning on reading wuthering heights sometime if anyone is interested? I might start it next week.

I was planning on an audiobook of that one.

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments And guys, I know it's a bit late for this, but don't you think it would be better if we kinda introduce ourselves? It would let us understand each other better.!

Genevieve (ode_to_readers) | 74 comments Fuzaila wrote: "And guys, I know it's a bit late for this, but don't you think it would be better if we kinda introduce ourselves? It would let us understand each other better.!"

This is embarrassing, none of us have introduced ourselves haha. well done for pointing that out!

How about i start! My name is Genevieve and i am from Dublin, Ireland...which you know since someone snooped ( looking at you Ginger ;) )

I love just looove YA fiction. Not too big a fan of horrors but will enjoy a good mystery, romance, action and adventure! Im also willing to try new things too :D

message 86: by Fuzaila (new)

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments Good to hear that Genevieve! 😀
Well, I didn't introduce myself. So here,
I'm from India, just turned 18 yesterday (Yay!), muslim. None of my friends and family read, so it's a bit of struggle to keep up my reading habit but I manage ofcourse :P

Love YA, historical, comtemporary, classics, just about anything as long as it's fiction. Not that I haven't read non-fiction, but please don't embarrass me by asking how many lol 😆

message 87: by Just A Ginger (new)

Just A Ginger | 433 comments @Rae Sorry I just saw your comment about Frostfire! I will be reading it on the 7th and reading all three books, I messaged you to just incase you miss my comment like I missed yours . :)

message 88: by Just A Ginger (last edited Jul 04, 2017 08:03AM) (new)

Just A Ginger | 433 comments @Genevieve, snooped? Who me? I would never :D lol

I'm Ginger, I'm 23 and I serve pancakes all day, and when I'm not serving pancakes I'm reading. My boyfriend has put me on a book buying ban for the entire year, and I try to read a book a day :D.

I love fantasy, but my true love is horror and science fiction, but for some reason I never read enough of them. Give me a book with spiders taking over the world or a group of people being stuck on a space station with creatures coming after them and I will tare through it in one sitting.

But I really love all genres, YA, Adult, erotica, contemporary, etc. I like to mix things up.

message 89: by Fuzaila (new)

Fuzaila (feistyhijabi) | 1336 comments @Ginger
Serving pancakes! Oh God, I'm jealous. I've had pancakes like, about ONCE in my entire life °_°

message 90: by Just A Ginger (new)

Just A Ginger | 433 comments Our pancakes are soooo good. I get them way to often lol.

HAPPY July 4th, even though this only applies to I think two other people on the team lol :)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Yes happy Fourth of July 🇺🇸
I am old enough to be all of your mothers! I live in Southern California and I am a group exercise manager, I am also a single mother of three kids, my oldest are 20 and 19 and both of them at college or university as most other countries call it, my youngest is 14 and going to start high school in August, I've always been a busy baseball and dance mom, but now just baseball, my dancer is off to college, both my older kids are also in social Greek organizations, however I don't think I am a sorority or fraternity mom yet, LOL 😂
Genres I will read almost anything, however my favorites are contemporary romance and thrillers, and my least favorite is probably science fiction, but I have read a few that I liked😀

message 92: by Just A Ginger (new)

Just A Ginger | 433 comments Oh wow, looks like you've had your hands full for quite some time. What are your kids going to school for? Hopefully something that will have them buying you your own library for a big happy mothers day gift one day lol.

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) My oldest son wants to get his PhD in Economics with an emphasis on Behavioral Economics, probably will be a professor he really likes the world of academia currently he is working on a double major in Economics and Psychology and my daughter wants to be an elementary school teacher, she will get her Masters before that, because in California you need at least an extra year of school to teach, and the school where she is now has a program where you get your Masters as well and then you will start at a higher pay rate... super proud of both of them, they were home briefly for the summer Break, but as I said both moved out over the weekend my daughter is pretty close, she stayed close to home, more so for the boyfriend than me, but my son is down in San Diego, so about an hour and a half away? Still close enough to visit!

message 94: by Genevieve (new)

message 96: by Genevieve (new)

Genevieve (ode_to_readers) | 74 comments Oh, i think i will be reading The Murder House by James Patterson sometime this month if anyone wants to try it out with me :)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Haha Believe me my life is not all that exciting, although my kids were very cliché my oldest was the jock and my daughter was a cheerleader who dated the quarterback, actually she still is dating that quarterback although he is no longer playing football and she is no longer cheerleading :-)

message 98: by Just A Ginger (new)
