This was a whole series with young, female protagonist (I think her name was Sue). She could see ghosts that bully people and had a whole lot of adventures like: something with a town absorbing thunder lightnings for power; mirages that kidnap children; a giant butterfly with a map of other planets (universes?) on its wings; a land where eating anything would turn you into chocolate block or gingerman; a path to a castle walking wich would make you smaller with every second.
At some point it turned up there was an imprisoned guy connected to copy machine by his copies and copies would go to torment our world for entertainment.
Possibly I mixed something up, but I only remember bits and pieces and am not sure of anything

I read it about 10 years ago? either children's or YA. I don't really remember the covers... It wasn't photos for sure, some kind of graphic...

Actually, I did!
It was a French series by Serge Brussolo about adventures of a girl named Peggy Sue. I'm not sure if it even has an official English translation...
