Ooh, Dee Henderson is good! I read The Protector and loved it! I still have to decide what I want to read for a contemporary . . . I'm looking for something pretty specific, but haven't found it yet. :(

You can do it, girl!!! I haven't read anywhere near as many books as I want to lately . . . but such is life! I'll go through seasons where I read a TON, and seasons where I barely read a few books.

message 112: by Arielle (new)

Arielle M. I generally don't take part in reading challenges- simply because I do better on my own, but my sister keeps asking me to come check this out, and Kendra also invited me.
ALTHOUGH, I give fair warning, if I wind up with too much editing work, I won't be able to keep up on it. That said, I'm going to try it, thanks for the invites and I look forward to this!

- A classic - Dracula
- A fantasy\sci-fi - Thick as Thieves
- A contemporary -
- An indie published -To Journey in the Year of the Tiger
- A non-fiction - Daughter of Heaven: The True Story of the Only Woman to Become Emperor of China
- 1901 and 2000 - 813 (Arséne Lupin)
- 1801 and 1900 -
- 1701 and 1800 -
- 1601 and 1700 -
- 1501 and 1600 - In the Shadow of Lions: A Novel of Anne Boleyn

I'll fill in the others later.

Oooh, you have several of my favorites on your list: Kate Seredy (sooo good), Max Brand (not my top favorite Western author but he's up there- he's great), A Tale of Two Cities (I adored it- my favorite Dickens'), Elizabeth George Speare (that woman could write), and of course, the immortal LEWIS and SHAKESPEARE.

Cool! A couple of these are re-reads from over a decade ago, but most are first time reads.

Brand isn't my fave western author either, but Destry is, in my opinion one of the best western novels ever and his best by far. Louis L'Amour is my favorite, but I also enjoy some Zane Grey too.

I have to admit that I stole the Speare book from someone else's list. :) I was not familiar with either that book or the author. But it sounded like a great story.

Karis I have a question. Would you all consider Julius Caesar by Shakspeare a non-fiction? I'm mostly through reading it, but my historical fiction for 2000-1901 came--it's Enemy Brothers by Constance Savery, btw, Sarah Grace-- and I really want to start reading it. However, I haven't read my non-fiction yet.

I'm hoping to be able to finish up Julius Caesar really quickly, count it as my non-fiction, and start on Enemy Brothers.
