JJ I read a book in high school, I think a dystopian where the main character, a man, worked in a (department store?), cash was no longer exchanged, only a type of money card, and people didn't eat food anymore, only vitamins??? Am I imagining this? LOL Thanks!

When were you in high school? Last year, 5 years ago, getting ready to celebrate your golden anniversary since High School? Was this a required book or one that you read for fun? Do you have any feelings about the author--well known/unknown, male/female?

JJ LOL, I meant to say, but then maybe blocked it out, that high school was nearly 30 years ago, and it was required but i don't recall in what grade. I don't remember feeling an emotion other than curiosity as Ive been returning to those books now decades later.

A classic example that comes to mind is Make Room! Make Room!, (basis for the movie "Soylent Green") though the main character in that is a police officer, not a shop keeper. No cannibalism in the book, though.
