Tibbserhotmail.com | 4 comments Wow, ok, I sadly remember very little about this book but I know I LOVED it as a kid. I'm 28 if that helps place it - not a recent book at all! And I think my copy was already pretty old.

So there was a girl and I THINK she was with her dad - possibly at a guest house of some sort, almost definitely at the sea. I think it was British-set.

There was a stone circle of dogs. She somehow turned into one and I remember she has a moment where she suddenly realises she's running on all fours. Merlin is involved somehow... there's a cave that's something to do with him and stalagmites/tites that join up and imprison people? That part I may be mixing up with something else, but I'm fairly sure Merlin was in it.

And there was a guy she was really suspicious of who smelled like fish or reminded her of a fish. His first or last name was Doyle.

That's all I can remember, hope someone can help :-)

Earth's Magic
Pamela F. Service -
Gently Merlin placed his hands on both sides of the dog's left head. ... Closing his eyes, Merlin tried to reach into the dog's mind. ... He must keep his eyes solely on the ancient stone circle rising from the grasslands ahead.
