The Lightning Thief
question
Should there be a 3rd percy jackson movie?

Okay, the first two Percy Jackson movies were pretty bad and kind of offensive to real Percy Jackson fans. But I would still like to see the whole series become movies, unfortunately, lots of people think that a 3rd movie won't be happening. The actors/actresses say they would love to keep doing the movies but they also say they don't think it is going to happen. So, should there be another movie?

The series is a disgrace to Rick Riordan and a waste of perfectly good money in the movie budgeting industry.
Yes, because of Nico and Bianca.
No, because, well.... no. LEAVE THE BOOKS AS BOOKS.

I would like a 3rd movie, because, I feel that even though both the movies were terrible, not completing the movies wouldn't be right. i also want to see who will play Nico and how well they will portray him.

No I really would not like to see a third movie because it would mean a third abomination. My friends and I were planning on remaking the movies so they are correct and posting it on YouTube. It may not have as awesome special effects, but it would stay true to the series.
If they made it right then it would be good. On one hand people want the movies to be just like the book. However the movies are more inspired by the books. The second one seemed to fix some of the problems people had with the first one (Annabeth's appearance for example) however I think a lot of fans, including myself, have just turned away from the current movies.
They should restart with young actors and a new approach.

DEAR ZEUS NO! THe film series should be put out of its misery.
I just want to say I watched the first movie long before I got my hands on the corresponding book. I'm currently reading it, and I still say the book was way better than the movie. I remember leaving out a bunch of stuff (most of the exciting and interesting parts). I never saw the second movie, but I heard the creators did better on that one than they did with the first. I don't know for myself on that note. I think they should wait a while and try to do the series again (more close to the books this time). It might waste money re-doing the series but it will bring the book justice.
Gods (lol) no! I hated the first movie and the second was OK, but PLEASE it will be so bad!
yes iam waiting for it to happen. Im wondering what its going to turn out like. what suck about the movies most is they cant add the detail that the book has! so my answer is yeeeeessssss!
Yea the movies kind of suck. I think they made the movies to be that you don't have to read the books to get the movie. I guess because the books are for a younger audience you have to make the movies understandable for kids. For those that read the books though the movies were so off, especially the second one. I hope the make the rest though just because I would hate to not finish the series.
Yes, even though the first two were nothing like the books, it is almost not fair to fans of the series to only get to experience the first two books made into movies.
Ummmmm NO. It would be a waste of money. These movies are probably the worst book-to-movie adaptation ever. I wish Rick Riordan could take the rights to the movies back, and give them to someone who will do a good job. But alas that is against the law so...no another movie would be a huge mistake.
I really hope that there isn't a third movie. They are turning the amazing books that Rick Riordan wrote into a piece of junk that they call a "movie". I love the cast (especially Logan Lerman) but I feel like it wouldn't be worth making another movie. I still want to see the Percy Jackson series turn into movies so I'll just hope that another director will try to remake the movies with the help and guidance of Rick Riordan so that the fans will be satisfied.
I would love for there to be a third movie, BUT IT HAS TO BE EXACTLY LIKE THE BOOK. Director, you CANNOT exclude important characters, add random events, TAKE AWAY awesome events, AND DON'T FREAKING CHANGE ANYTHING
I will cry if they try to do heroes of Olympus. I bet that Nico is gonna end up with a girlfriend, or they're just gonna kill off Frank.
I absolutely do not think that there should be a third movie. Sure the books are amazing but unless you are going to make it at least a tiny bit acurate, it shouldnt be made. Now if they were to completely remake the movies as the fandom continues to grow, and they make them "right", then yes there should be another movie.
No.
But dreamworks or Pixar/Disney should reboot it as 3D animated series.

Starting over would be a dream come true. Buts since it won't happen I hope they get a new director and make titan's curse good at least. I want Asa butterfield as Nico!
I don't think so. Considering that Kronos rose out of Tartarus in the ending of Sea of Monsters and got his butt kicked in a matter of 2 minutes, what point is there to continuing the movies? The idiotic directors decided to take the most "oh my freaking gosh" moment in the entire series and squeeze it into the second movie for to make a 'dramatic' 10 minute battle.
I thought that the actors were signed on for 3 movies right at the beginning. I'm not happy with the way the movies have turned out (although Sea of Monsters wasn't really bad until the ending battle) but I want to see Thalia so I'm hoping for at least one more.

The first 2 were VERY disappointing, and I screamed a few times into a near by pillow when it got non-Percy-Jackson. Is it so hard to go with the story line?!?! I mean, its ok to cut SOME of it out so its not the longest movie ever, but they cut out all the BIG IMPORTANT details and replaced them with something that doesn't even relate to the story!!!
I would like a third movie on one circumstance. That they actually RELATE it to the book a majority of the time. If its possible to totally start over sense they totally blew it in the end of the Sea of Monsters, they should do it. But if they do the same crappy job they did with the first movies, then DON'T MAKE ANOTHER ONE!!!

They aren't making the third one. The announcement came out a little bit ago, probably a few months back. Basically, they didn't have the budget for it, they hadn't made enough money on the second movie to make the third.
I'm not disapointed at all, they killed the books (in a bad way).

Judging how the other 2 were crap, I'd say no. But, I've made myself tear the movies and books apart so whenever someone asks me 'Oh, your favourite series is Percy Jackson, like the movie, right?" I'm just standing there like "well....no." and then I start explaining how the only things similar are the character's names (and Logan being Percy, because he's perfect for him). The only reason I'd really like to see a Titan's Curse movie is because I'd like to see an actor for Nico. He is one of my favourite characters and I feel like I need to see him on screen for some reason.

Sure. They suck but I like just going to movies. And they don't ruin the books for me.
I don't care if there's no 3rd Percy Jackson movie. I hate those movies. Starting over would be a good idea. As long as they change everything! The director, the actors, etc..
As with all books-turned-movies, I kind of see the movies as separate from the books. Comparing them only brings pain (as with Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, etc.). Because, all book lovers know, the movies just rarely (if ever) do the books justice. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing more of the movies, although I do think the actors will be too old for the roles by the time they would ever get them done ...!
I really dislike both movies and they don't do the books any justice at all I'd love to see the third book into a movie, but only if the stayed true to the books and had a better script! Titan's Curse is my favorite of the five (tied with Last Olympian) and I would love to see it come alive.
Ok I am a true Percy Jackson fan, but I figured that they weren't going to make a second movie after the first. Then when the second one came out I was a little worried because the first one didn't exactly follow the book. The second one rarely followed the books storyline. It would surprise me if they didn't make a third one seeing as they have already started the series. I will still see the movies because if you hadn't read the books then they were good movies. I know this because my dad who hadn't read the books watched both movies with me and he said they were pretty good. Comparing the books and movies they are very different, but good in their own ways. Reading the books you can't make that into a movie that will live up to true fans perspective. It rarely happens though the Harry Potter books and movies are pretty close.
I would love another movie, but let's face it, it would be pretty pointless.
~SPOILERS~
Kronos was raised and destroyed again in the last couple of minutes of Sea of Monsters. What would be the point of doing the other movies if the 5th book climax has already been added on the end of the 2nd movie..?
Then again, there is the cliffhanger ending on which Thalia Grace is 'reborn', and surely they have to feature her a little more? And the prophecy won't come true until he's 20 (one of the things I hate about the movies are the age differences), so surely the film makers would have to tie up those ends too?
