I had forgotten about what happens at the meeting. I had forgotten SO MUCH. Man, he's about as hard on his characters and George RR Martin is to his GoT characters! I'm a little ways into Part III, now, and I know it's just going to get worse (sadder, I mean, of course). As for the character conversations, yes, Frannie did kind of irritate me some at the end of Book II, but I also understand some of it. She's young, and scared, and pregnant. Pregnancy alone is sometimes enough to get you acting from emotions alone. And I really like Glen. He may be a bit talkative and maybe a little smug about his knowledge, but he really does know what he's talking about, so I think that gives him the right to be. Larry...well, he is growing and maturing so much. He and Stu and Harold are perfect examples of how unforeseen pressure can bring out the best or worst that someone might not have ever found otherwise.

The problem with reading two different but essentially the same book multiple times is that I get confused with what was where. It has been years since I read the original that I feel I am missing some things that have happened or I think they have happened.
mrbooks, I am reading the unabridged version for the second or third time and I don't remember anything like that in what I am reading.

Thanks for clearing that up I thought I was loosing my mind at first when Karen didn't remember it. Mind you I think I have caught Capt. Tripps as I now have a horrible soar throat nose is running by the bucket full and it feels like my head has been stuffed with mush.
mrbooks, I am sorry about that. I wasn't thinking clearly. And welcome to the Tripps brigade. everyone reading this seems to have gotten it at some point.
That's alright Karen I sometimes get confused as well. This is my second reminder of how the world was wiped out during this reading alone LOL.Here is the question how many of you remember a quote that is in the Drawing of the Three and the Stand? In the Drawing of the three it is Detta and Eddie in the Stand I believe it is Stu doing the quote.

I think Glen was spot on with his predictions. He is definitely the pessimist though. I really enjoyed him even though he was somew..."
