Shari-amor | 5275 comments There are indeed some very powerful beings in the DH universe. Who do you believe are the most powerful!? The least!? Do you believe that there are beings masking their supernatural abilities!? How would they compare to others!? Discuss and theorize on all the different beings power levels.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Slick, raised a very interesting question about Thorn's father, The fallen Angel we've come to know as the devil.

"Where do you think Lucifer ranks in the Cosmic chain of badass?

I always pictured him up next to Noir?
What do you guys think?"

message 3: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I don't think Noir could take Lucifer in a fight. I don't think they're on the same level. Here it is, Thorn and Noir are sharing a realm with a shaky truce. They don't want beef with one another. I couldn't see Noir ever having this sort of deal with anyone else. And from the CON books, someone said Thorn was even more formidable and dangerous before he started getting a conscience. He must have given Noir pause so I can only imagine how Lucifer is. Pure unadulterated evil. A fight between a full powered Ambrose and Lucifer would be interesting though.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Then again, Noir is weak right now so maybe he could give old Lucy a run for his money

message 5: by Slick (new)

Slick | 456 comments Noir is a Primal though and weak right know but Caleb told Nick in CON that Noir was holding his death on a leash where the Malachai is concerned.

Also the the more hatred there is feeds the Malachais powers so pure evil/hatred (Noir/Lucifer) vs Ambrose would be very interesting

:B i have shivers...

Shari-amor | 5275 comments So maybe if Noir had Nick, his badassness would definitely jump many epic power levels and could take on Lucifer. He'd need the Malachai though otherwise I don't see him keeping up.

That fight would indeed be scary. Ambrose feeding off of both Lucifer and Noir's hatred. He could whipe the floor with them

I don't think Lucifer is anywhere close to Noir. I always thought having "tainted" blood as in not being full demon might drop the level of power a being has - and in a way that seems to be the case with Katra based on a comment she made about being second only to her dad. So she seems to be stronger than Artemis but weaker than Ash. But, what threw me was what was in the new book (view spoiler) and it sounded like that's not really how it works. I would think Cade is pretty high up the ladder (view spoiler), maybe only topped by the Malachai.

Noir is certainly a scary bastard (emphasis on bastard), but so far we haven't seen him at full strength. I guess his biggest plus is that he can draw power like he does from Jaden, but if he can, I'm sure the light gods can too. But then, even with Jaden's power, he couldn't hold Seth. He played dirty to do so, but the moment Seth had his power back he was save. Same with Jaden, he and his nasty sis/lover are only holding him because they pull a dirty on him, forcing Jaden to "volunteer" himself into their slavery. I guess what I'm saying is, Noir and Azura might be strong to some degree, but only because they are parasites that know how to play the game by cheating wherever they can.

I think Nick will be really really strong one day. Wasn't there a scene where it said the Malachai could kill the primal gods/gods without repercussions?

I like the dark horses like Katra and Cade. They both can gain power and really any of the strong ones we have seen so far would be amazing in a fight, because they have something to fight for and something to lose. No better incentive to win than that :o)

I'm really curious about the kids that are popping up left right and center. Marissa, Ash's kids, Bethany's and now Cade's... I hope she writes long enough that we get one day their stories.

As much as I love to speculate (as you can see :o) ) about who is strong/strongest - and there are plenty and plenty black horses like Takeshi, Zebulon, Savitar and Jaden that we know as good as nothing about - one thing SK's stories are is relatable. Real life is rarely ever only fairies and rainbows or fire and pain. Life is both, as much as we might hate it some times. She tries very much to make her characters the same way. Anything she has built is built on balance. So while she writes about such powerful people, when it comes down to it, I don't think there will ever be the ultimate powerful person in any of her books - neither a good one nor a bad one :o)

Annmarie (anniect) | 11 comments Does anyone else find it funny that Noir and Azura (azure) translated from the French mean Black and Blue? Certainly possible someone else brought it up.

Nicole mentioned Katra being less powerful than Artie but stronger than Ash. I seem to remember in one book SK say that Ash is more powerful than Artie because of his mixed heritage, making him a god and whatever else? But he allowed her to keep calling him to her because of promise re: Dark Hunters. My memory could be a lot fuzzy on this.

Being a nerd, I looked up Azura (as spelled) and found in the Book of Jubilee (no idea what that is) Azura is the wife of Seth.

Just strange and interesting, to me, info you can find when you're a nerd. ; )

Myst | 734 comments I thought it was said that Kat was more powerful than Ash. I don't remember which book it was in though.

message 10: by Slick (new)

Slick | 456 comments Yeah i read that Katra is supposedly stronger than Ash and can draw on her grandmothers power... but she seems to get KO'D in every fight without doing anything..

I think the Malachai is the strongest as he can absorb gods and demons.

message 11: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Ash doesnt need anything to draw his power from. Katra needs the moon and the sun so she probably has to recharge a lot after using her powers

Mare Hernandez (mare9548) | 35 comments Katra, or any god/dess that comes from more than one pantheon, is stronger than another that belongs to only one...

You know who's gonna be really powerful when she grows up? Mia... well, I guess her unnamed brother too. Think about it. If Katra is even more powerful than Artie and Ash, being half Atlantean and half Greek, how more will be her children? They're 1/4 greek, 1/4 atlantean and half sumerian!

message 13: by Katelyn (new)

Katelyn (katelynpreece) | 532 comments It's hard to determine whose stronger when Sherri can always throw in a new random power if they happen to be a god or a chthonian. I'm just being honest.

Rather than focusing on whose most powerful in the grand scene of things, I try to remember that someone who might have been a badass back in the day, could have had his her powers drained to be weaker.

A weak Thynatos was almost able to kill Simi because he held the Atlantean dagger. Even though Simi is way stronger.

When we talk about power are we also taking into account their weaknesses? And if we are then any random weakness in the person can come up at any time.

Some sort of sickness that some primal goddess created, etc etc.

With different powers, strengths, and weaknesses being revealed over time. It's difficult to analyze whose the strongest.

All you can really do is use your gut instincts and choose the number on the rating scale:

For example:

How likely is Acheron able to beat Nick at full Malachi

1 being Nick doesn't even stand the slimmest chance
2) Nick can get in good few blows but will definitely lose and Nick will be more bashed up than Ash.
3) Neck on neck
4) Ash can get in a few good blows, but Nick will definitely win, and Ash will be more bashed up than Nick
5 being Ash doesn't stand even the slimmest chance

The first number that my mind was drawn to was 3.

Nick and Ash would be Nick on Nick ---sorry bad pun. That's what my gut instinct tells me.

You also have to take into account how a character changes when someone they love is in danger.

Artemis can go from scared and seemingly weak. *I say seemingly because she seems weak, as she isn't one to flaunt or make a display of her powers, the way the others do. But when it comes to harming or threatening her daughter Artemis is a bad ass if her daughter is threatened in any way shape or form. Artemis always tries to get her way through bargains, half truths, manipulation you name it. But when it comes to her daughter....oh hail to the know....no more bargains, no more half truths, just the wrath of hell on anyone who was foolish enough to touch Katra. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Artemis could get a few blows on Ash in that state of adrenaline and anger.
