What's a guy like Kang Jaekyun doing at El Castillo Resort anyway? He's supposed to be having a world tour, filling stadiums with thousands of screaming fans like world-famous kpop idols do, but he's here in Los Angeles and incognito. He's been stuck in a rut and he wants to find new inspiration for his music.



Jaekyun is the kind of guy who's super warm and friendly, but he can take teasing a little too far sometimes. For a guy who's supposed to be incognito, he's a bit too chatty, but let's be real — he's not the unsocial type. He gets stressed out and anxious when he's not around people.

let's just start off by saying that Michael, or as he usually refers himself as, Micha does not want to be here. Period, the end, do not pass go ━ all the usual sayings. And just like always, no-one gives a damn about what he wants. Unlike his darling perfect sister, Micha is not the prized child ━ hell, he's not even sure he's remembered half the time to be treasured. He's the overlooked sibling, the one who lags behind and whose only skill happens to be playing Final Fantasy and knowing exactly how to make everyone around him cringe with awkwardness.

so yeah, having to play dutiful and loving brother to a sister that has never done a thing for him isn't exactly how Micha envisioned spending a portion of his summer, especially considering he's way out of his comfort zone. Not to mention, he just doesn't care about getting to know Hanna's fiancé ━ his soon-to-be brother-in-law *shudders* ━ and he certainly doesn't care about spending quality time with his family. Maybe if he keep his fingers crossed it'll go by painlessly.

Kyu-hyun is a spoiled brat, and there's really no way to deny that. He spends almost all his waking hours annoying everyone around him to death, and everything that comes out of his mouth is selfish.

Maybe his parents didn't give him enough attention when he was growing up. Maybe he has some need to prove that he's just as important as his three older brothers. Or maybe he's just a spoiled brat who enjoys having people at his beck and call.

Anzu is that person who, in a cafe, has already befriended the barista. The one who drinks tea out of mugs and coffee out of espresso shot glasses. The one lurking in their corner with their Macbook Pro as they sketch out the coffee shop on their blue and slate-grey drawing tablet.

The thing about clichés is that they come from somewhere. In the case of 'hipster', from Anzu and co. The people who only drink "real" coffee: fair trade organic, black as their souls, from tiny brown coffee cups and shot glasses.

unabashedly is the way Benjamin lives his life, and it starts by shamelessly staring at hot guys' backsides. It doesn't matter that he's shitty at flirting and most ━ not all ━ blow him off; it's fun and isn't that what living in the moment, especially when one is staying at a gorgeous hotel, is all about? So yeah, he admires nice looking ass and he flirts badly and he has one hell of a time doing it.

benjamin really couldn't care less about what you think of him. He figures life is short so why hold back? Living in the moment, eating way too much pizza, laughing so hard juice comes out his nose ━ that's who Benjamin is. Sure, it helps that he borderline lives in mansion and really doesn't have to worry about anything, but still. Benjamin is just a decent guy.

vanessa is well-versed in what all the rumors swirling around her seethe, knows that she hold the reputation of a spoiled drama-queen. And she also knows it doesn't bother her. It's no secret that she spends 90% of her time worried about her own problems, which usually don't hold a lot of gravity.

really, Vanessa isn't sure why her mom decided to cart them off to this stupid hotel on this stupid 'vacation'. As if she can somehow forget the fact that her married parents are only going to be married for a few more weeks at best. But she's willing to play along ━ and maybe create a whole new whirlwind of turmoil behind her.

Matt* is bad at socialising. Maybe he missed the gene and it passed on to his sister instead, since both of his parents are typical Hispanic extroverts. Whatever the case, Matt's always preferred science to people. Chemical equations don't try to make conversation.

Science makes sense to him. Everything else — well, he has a distinct lack of coordination, but he figures that if he trips over the tablecloth fast enough then nothing will end up on the floor. Physics is reliable — much more so than people.

*It has two t's because Mat results in stupid jokes — at least now the jokes have incorrect spelling.

Nick is the kind of person who will go out of his way to avoid being part of a social situation. The kind of person who will insist that he has an interest in photography, then go and develop an interest in it, purely to get out of things — "I can take the photos."

Unless he's been bribed, Nick is probably going to spend most of his holiday in places where other people aren't — if he has the choice. He's not sure how many places like that there are around here, and he's willing to bet that there's staff or guests in most of his usual refuges.

This all kind of feels like a dream to Woo-sung. After all, who would expect the rookie ulzzang Busan boy to end up in the highest rated drama of 2017... and then on a trip to fucking L. A.? Not Woo-sung, that's for sure.

Woo-sung is here to have a good time. Maybe he has to be more careful when he goes out in Korea but it's not like Dispatch can follow him all the way to America (can they?). And yes, maybe Woo-sung is making his manager's life hell due to the fact that he conveniently forgets to tell him where he's going, but he's an adult. He knows what he's doing... ish.

But she's going to a fancy resort after summer school as compensation with her parents, so it can't be that bad.



She may seem like the quiet, studious type, but that's because you haven't seen her game like she means it. She's secretly competitive about literally everything, though, but if she hasn't pegged you as a rival in some sort of way, you'll have a friend who's funny and affectionate. (And a friend who'll kick the ass of whoever tries to harass you.)

Naia has often been told that she should be less violent. She usually responds snarkily. People, she believes, should keep their noses out of her business. She doesn't care particularly much about whether other people's business is kept out of — so long as they leave her alone.

While she may seem like an antisocial person, if you manage to get Naia to like you it can be challenging to get her to shut up. Flamboyant, excitable and slightly hyperactive, Naia doesn't really understand the meaning of "calm".

Sure, it's nice being offered the chance to spend a few weeks in one of the nicest hotels the state has to offer, but man. Getting used to snobs is not something Jaz is particularly good at. But at least El Castillo has a nice aesthetic, right? And for once her snapchat stories are interesting.

it's safe to say that Jaz regards her Aunt K has her absolute favorite; after all, none of her other relatives have ever offered to do something so nice for her. Aside from all of that, though, Jaz is legitimately enjoying all this quality she gets with her aunt. Sure, the activities around here are a little dizzying and the rude people get old ━ but have you seen the buffet? Yeah, she could get used to this.

Nikita is case study #101 of rich kid slated to take over her father's company or marry another rich guy who will. She's been paraded around all her life as the boss' daughter and she's not very good at this thing called human interaction — she's very good at looking aloof and detached and distant, though, even if she just wants some nice company.

growing up in a very poor household means that there wasn't enough food for everyone, let alone money for a vacation. Being at El Castillo is honestly kind of surreal for Heidi but don't doubt that she's going to enjoy every single second of it. Parties, luxury, hot guys walking around shirtless by the pool ━ with sugar daddy on business, maybe it's time for the sugar baby to play...
