ABANDONED. Science fiction a boy travels to a different reality and finds out there are multiple realities some magically adept while others technologically adept.

There's this boy, I'm not sure of his name, but he goes on a field trip. On the day of the field trip he suddenly has the urge to walk. He doesn't know where to go, he just has the urge to walk. His sight slowly starts to fog around the edges, and he winds up in a different world. I'm pretty sure that world is set in magic. Things start to get dangerous, but he gets saved by different versions of himself. They recruit him and start to train him. He meets different versions of himself. Some technologically inclined while others are magically inclined. He meets himself from a world where technology is implanted within their heads. He meets a different version of himself where he's part werewolf. He meets a version of himself that is actually a girl. That's pretty much all I remember of the book. Please help
