25.9 - MegSCL's Task: Your Objective
There are lots of suggestions that work in the thread below, here are a few ideas that have come up multiple times.book:People of the Book The Sign of the Book
key: Duplicate Keys Cronin's Key
door: The Door in the Hedge The Door to January
So would this work?Every Heart a Doorway and
(showing a doorway into the building)Or this one?
Bone Deep and
(bone)Or...
The Sign of the Book and
(book)
Just checking that this combination would work. Book 1: House of CardsThen using cards (houses of cards are usually playing cards).
Book 2:
Will any of these options work?Hell's Gate
The object is "gate"
And gate on cover:
The Book of Summer
The object is "book"
Books on cover
If I use People of the Book for Book 1 (the object being "book"), would either of these covers be acceptable for Book 2?
Thanks!
okay, one of my books didn't qualify so how about The Door in the Hedgeby Robin McKinley and
by Susanna Kearsley, door on the cover

They are all good options

On the book cover, there is a glass on the small table."
That works, enjoy

for door on building."
Looks good :)
Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "I like to verify The Painted Bridge and
for bridge"Sorry, even though it's an object, a bridge is too big to fit in a room so it won't work for this task.

The books work, but I don't see that as a gate. I see an arch and curtains. Sorry
Wayne wrote: "Why must an object be able to fit in a room? A ship is an object, isn't it?"Yes, lots of objects are larger, but I wanted to set some limitations on what could be used for this task.

[bookcover:Our Magn..."Yep they both look like books to me

Now to make a decision! LOL

by [author..."Hi Jayme - I'm still struggling with this image. I can see a doorway but I don't think I can see an actual door in it. The picture is really hard to make out though so if you think there is a door there and you have a link to a better image I could look at that.
Here is the link to the goodreads book page https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9.... There is a door and if you click on the picture and click enlarge you can see it better.
Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "Here is the link to the goodreads book page https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9.... I really can't tell if there is a door there or just the wall behind the arch. I don't see any hinges or anything either.
I looked at the enlarged picture and there is a door. I can find something else for a door on the cover.
I think I am going to change my mind (again)! I have a book that has been on my TBR Wishlist (and personal home shelf) for a LONG time (
). I just realized that the cover shows bones. I could pair it with Bones Never Lie, another book I have been wanting to read. For a task that I did not think I had any pairings, I find I keep coming up with them!

"Hi there. Just wondering - did this possible combination get lost in the deluge, or didn't it work?

Sorry Trish, I thought I'd replied. Yes good one!

That looks like a knife to me. Approved

Book 1: Read a book with the name of an object in its title (Plural, singular, and possessive forms of your book 2 cover object can be used, but no other variations)
Book 2: Read a book with that same object pictured on its cover.
REQUIRED: include the cover in your post.
What is an object?
For this task the object must meet the following definitions:
-An object is a real thing that you can touch, it's not an abstract concept
-An object is something distinct with edges, it's not a type of substance (e.g. snowflake works, snow does not)
-An object is not a person, being, animal, plant or any living creature. However, it can be an item that was once part of a living creature, e.g. a feather, leaf, flower. The feather, leaf, flower etc. must be depicted on the cover of Book 2 as a detached object (e.g. a cut flower or bunch of flowers in a vase works but flowers growing in a garden or meadow do not)
-An object must be small enough that it could theoretically fit in the living room of a large house (e.g. a car works, but a train does not). You can use parts of houses or buildings (door, wall) but not a building itself (house, home, castle).
Some examples:
Object: Nest
Book 1: The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
Book 2:
Object: Throne
Book 1:
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Book 2:
Object: Bone
Book 1: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Book 2:
