Not as good as the first one, but cute romance with some violence.

The Secret Lives of Color, by Kassia St. Clair, finished 6/21/24 ★★★★

Savage Sourdough (Cozy Corgi #4), by Mildred Abbott, finished 7/11/24 ★★★★

My next five :

Marla, it's book #2 in a series, so even if you skip #1, you shouldn't be *too lost.
*sneaking in a few minutes of GR time while on vacation, shhh!*

Book #1 also has a map on the cover. It causes me distress to read books out of sequence. :D

Wonderful!

Pirate Vishnu (Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt #2), by Gigi Pandian, finished 8/2/24 ★★★★

Blue: In Search of Nature’s Rarest Color, by Kai Kupferschmidt, finished 8/8/24 ★★★★

My next five :

Just for Now by Rosalind James - 3/20/24 ♥♥♥♥

Plus I've already read the next in the series, which was just as good. Thanks for the pick.

Not very interesting covers for my next five, but here they are:

Starting Over at Blueberry Creek by Annie Rains - 9/9/24 ♥♥♥♥

Not sure why it took me so long to pick it up, but I'm glad I did because, not only was it was enjoyable, but it also moved me along in a series that I've neglected for a while.

In the Blink of a Pie (Maple Syrup #3), by Catherine Bruns, finished 9/9/24 ★★★★

To Sir, with Love by Lauren Layne - 10/4/24 ♥♥♥♥

I've read all but one of the books I posted in msg #1041, so here's a new batch of five:

Booked for Murder, by P.J. Nelson, finished 10/26/24 ★★★.5

Thank you for choosing this one, Jennifer! I rated it 5 stars. "
Overall, I really liked that one, although I listened to the audio rather than reading a print version, so the footnotes didn't really bother me. To be honest, they were incorporated right into the story, so I never really noticed that they *are footnotes - I just thought they were asides to the reader, a la Benjamin Stevenson in his Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone series.
