I need to get back to Cotton Malone.

First, though...
Jennifer, I'm picking

Now, my next five :

I looked to see if you reviewed them as I was deciding which book to choose. :D

Golden Girl by Elin Hilderbrand - 3/14/24 ♥♥♥♥♥

I'd rate it 4.5 stars, if I could, but rounded up because it was different and I didn't want to stop listening.

Thank you for the Ilona Andrews pick, but drat, a 5 star book...I had to add it to my TBR.

If you've not read anything by Elin Hilderbrand before, I'd say you're in for a treat, but I can't remember which genre/s you prefer. I'd call her books women's fiction, but usually with some meat to them. They're not all light and fluffy, but they *are good beach reads if you're into that kind of thing :)

I've only read Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand and didn't love it, but I have several audiobooks on the TBR marked to listen to.

Jennifer, I am picking

My next 5:

The Summer We Started Over, by Nancy Thayer, finished 4/8 ★★★★

I really liked that one, even though it almost seemed like it was 'copying' the style of Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone with lots of 'asides' from the author to the reader.

The Seaside Sisters, by Pamela M. Kelly, finished 5/11/24 ★★★.5

Fiona
I choose for you

My next 5

I didn't realize it won't be published before August so I will have to search for another 5 for in between oopsie

Will pick another 5 over the weekend (and really, I just need an excuse to buy more books lol)

Yeah, all I have to say about that, Fiona, is that looking around for excuses to buy books just uses up valuable time you could spend buying books. Obviously counter-productive.

Bridget, I choose

Thank you for choosing this one, Jennifer! I rated it 5 stars. I can totally see why others might not like it as much (the footnotes for example) but it was really the right book for me :)

Review: I'm sorry to say I was underwhelmed. I didn't really like any of the sisters. But I truly disliked their mother. My favorite character was the handsome, helpful small town doctor, Ike. Though Mags' firefighter husband, Eric, was a great guy too.
