Elise P (thewondermango) | 4 comments I grew up with a picture book based on the original Beauty and the Beast fairytale. There are a lot of versions around but I can't find the specific one I read. It was pretty true to the fairytale so didn't have much to distinguish it other than illustrations. I remember one where the Beast was laying on the stones of a courtyard, surrounded by autumn leaves. Another where Belle is in her new room looking at the beautiful dresses and jewels given to her.
If anyone could list any such books it would be greatly appreciated so I could narrow it down. Even if they don't perfectly match my description, as my memory could be innacurate. Thanks :)

Mango, around what year did you read this book? This will help narrow down the search.

Can you describe the illustrations - realistic/cartoony/cute, simple/detailed, painted watercolors/bold graphics, sunny/dark/muted colors/black & white?

Steph | 27 comments Was it part of a collection of fairy tale stories or a stand alone book? I have two that come to mind, unfortunately without any idea as to what year we could possibly be talking about when this book was in your possession one of my suggestions is a more recent one. My first suggestion would be the MinaLima illustrated version of Beauty and the Beast, which is the original novel version of the tale: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Or it could be this one, which is actually part of a collection of fairy tale: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
