I just couldn't get into this book, it took forever to finish. I probably wouldn't have finished it except for this challenge. ON the plus side I did like the Rainey and Quincey characters.

Damsel in Distress
Daisy Dalrymple #5
252 pages
Finished: 7/20
Rating: 3 stars
Review: This is the second book I've read in the Daisy Dalrymple series and I continue to like these characters. In this story, Daisy introduces her mom to her boyfriend in the police force, and helps the police find a kidnapper. I enjoyed the story and the characters.

Laura | 902 comments I'll be going to bed soon, but I'll check back in the morning to see if Gea has posted her review.

Laura | 902 comments I just sent Gea a PM. It looks like she marked her book read a couple of days ago.

message 259: by Bryn (new)

Bryn Barnes (bryndigsbooks) If she hasn't posted her review, does that mean we can't roll this week?

Nope. Each week at least one of us (different, so no blame or anything!) doesn't post until Thursday. :)

I sent Ezi a message.

Gea (gea89) Is it too late to post now? :/ I've had a hectic week at work and completely forgot about it but the book was read

Review:
This was yet another great sports romance from Sarina Bowen that managed to be both quick, easy and fully entertaining to read. I'm very curious about the rest of the team and can't wait for the owner's story which should be the best from the series.

Review: Fun is still the word I use to describe the series. The tension/mystery is usually pretty obvious, but works nicely to throw the characters together. And I like that very minor characters in past books become the MCs in new books, but we still get to see our favorites from other books. But she doesn't throw all the couples into every book. Just an update on a few of them. :)

Leslie Ann | 391 comments I am trying to get my book done by tomorrow night. I am a slower reader and really need the extra time. Since we rolled later this week. I will do my very best to finish. I am currently at 40%. If I didn't have to play tennis, I would read all night. I will see how much I can get done tomorrow. Sorry....

This book was just okay. Part of it may because I haven't read the earlier books in the series, but I found the conversations stilted and "cutesy". The mystery was okay but I didn't feel any suspense as it neared the conclusion. I probably won't read any more books in the series.

Review: Ella Shaw has been Avery Dare's best friend ever since they were little and both forced to give bone marrow donations, and both have dads that let them down. The difference is that Avery has a large family and Ella has no one - she's had to rely on herself for years. Ella has had a crush on Tyler Dare for a long time, and when she was 18 and Tyler was home on military leave, she snuck into his bed. After he discovered she had been a virgin, the two have kept away from each other as much as possible. Then, Ella gets mugged while on a Caribbean island just before a hurricane is due in, and Avery sends Tyler to rescue her. The two realize they still have feelings for one another. This book was just okay for me. Although Ella's independence was understandable, it was annoying. Also, the mystery behind her mugging was cleared up too easily as was the resolution with her dad.

Review: I really enjoyed this thriller/mystery. Set on a campus in Tennessee, a mild-mannered professor is accused of murdering his estranged wife and her lover, the coach of the football team. But not all is as it seems. The story was great, and the twists and turns were really fun to read. I recommend this to any readers that enjoy fun mystery/thrillers.

Review: Now I FINALLY see why everyone loves this series. Part of my problem may have been that I was finally reading this series at the age of 24 instead of 12, but I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the first few books. This book was great and cute and all the things I expected the books to be. Wonderful conclusion to the series.

From Wikipedia - Space opera is a subgenre of science fiction that emphasizes space warfare, melodramatic adventure, interplanetary battles, as well as chivalric romance, and often risk-taking.

Star Wars is a good example.
