SOLVED. Girl with green skin named juniper [s]

It's a book about a girl possibly an alien or otherworldly person who lives with her grandmother the girl has green skin and her name is Juniper. She's never seen herself in the mirror before until she meets a human boy and either befriends him or falls in love with him and he shows her a mirror. I'm not sure if I got all the details of the book right it's been such a long time since I've read it but I'm pretty sure I got the basics of it.

Maybe Percy Jackson? One of the characters is named Juniper and she has a greenish tint to her skin. I dunno, probably isn't, but still, maybe. The Lightning Thief
