This book is about a girl whose housekeeper? has a grudge against her for some reason, so she uses animals that have specials powers to make other people forget about her. In the beginning of the book, she is bit by the class rat, and it's the second time she's been bitten, and now she can understand what he's saying. I think it's the second time, it could be that the second time does something bad to you and the first time makes you understand him. And her parents are away a lot and it turns out the housekeeper feeds them stuff that has a hedgehog's? footprint on it that make people care about things they don't care about and don't care about things they care about. And when the girl has some kind of session every week in the middle of class, the housekeeper comes in and does something that makes the teacher and students ignore her. And she finds an area where there are lots of animals that each has their own characteristic. Not all of them are bad, one of them is a Love Mouse or something, and she counteracts the hedgehog's footprints.
I read this maybe 5+ish years ago. I think the cover might be a darker color with a girl on it and sort of vines as a border, but I'm not sure.
