Jean | 1658 comments I'm ready!!! (Can't wait to see who gets Kate after all the fighting for her list! LOL)!

Perfect! So after Sinners #4 and after Stone???

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Lisa wrote: "It was Figure Eight - and I picked it for her, darn it. I was dying to hear what she thought because it's on my TBR too!!"

I wasn't thrilled with it, which is a shame because I have really liked other books by the author. I think she tried for shocking but, for me at least, it was more disjointed than anything.

Shame, too, because I was REALLY looking forward to this one. Oh well.

message 104: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Sounds good to me. Whenever ya'll decide, I should be ok.

Did anyone ever pin down a date for A Stone in the Sea?? There are quite a few of us reading that, right??

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Pairs posted in Message #2 !!!

message 106: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yay, Fabi! Thanks!

Btw--I can't remember where we all discussed A Stone in the Sea BR, so I went ahead and set up a thread so that everyone who's going to do it can post and a date can be decided!

message 107: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments OMG OMG OMG...I got bev!!! And there were so many books on her list that I never heard of, but this one sounds delicious (and I'll be adding it to my list)...so here you go:

Jahleel (Loving All Wrong Book 1) by S. Ann Cole....and GO!!!

message 108: by Amy (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments YAY!!!! *rubs hands together*

I find it a little amusing how I am picking for Lisa, who is picking for bev, who is picking for me, lol.

Let's plan that for this month some time, Renee (even though Amy said it wasn't that great).

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Amy wrote: "YAY!!!! *rubs hands together*

ha! I didn't even notice that. Funny.

message 111: by Nay (last edited May 31, 2017 01:02PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Sounds good to me, Lisa!

Paula--I've only read one of the books on your list, and I don't want to pick that one, so I'm picking something that I really want to read, and I hope you'll be happy with it because it's about rock stars!

So for Paula, I pick:
Just an Illusion - Side A by D. Kelly Just an Illusion - Side A (The Illusion, #1) by D. Kelly

ETA: The reason I didn't pick the book that I'd already read is because I gave it 4 stars, and if I can help it, it don't want to pick a book I've read for anyone unless it was a 5-star read for me.

message 112: by Amy (last edited May 31, 2017 11:39AM) (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Okay Lisa, my pick for you is Sex Love Repeat because I read and loved it from what I remember. :)

message 113: by Amy (new)

Amy (amy_nm) | 140 comments Er, I read Renee's comment and now I'm second guessing going straight for the one I read as opposed to one I haven't and am curious about...

message 114: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Amy wrote: "Okay Lisa, my pick for you is Sex Love Repeat because I read and loved it from what I remember. :)"

I was going to say excellent choice, Amy...but I'll wait for you to confirm :) I know, I selfishly picked one I wanted to read when I picked yours!!

message 115: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments OMG, I got Renee and there are quite a few on her list that I would like to pick for her......okay, give me a minute!

message 116: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Renee, it has to be Epilogue.......although I was going to pick Bastian's Storm. I loved both books. But, I don't know how you could read the first two Captive in the Dark series books without ending it with Epilogue......it was pure perfection!!!! Hope you like it.....it's short so you'll probably be done by tonight....LOL!

message 117: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Amy that is a great pick for Lisa!

message 118: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Dang, I don't know which I want to pick for Niki, Corrupt or The Iron King. Both were insanely good for totally opposite reasons. :)

Ela | 4291 comments *waves at Leslie* Hey there chica! Guess what YOU GOT ME and I SUCK at PICKING but I'm picking one of my favorites and hope you enjoy it *disclaimer: no PNR included*
Heaven and Hell Heaven and Hell (Heaven and Hell, #1) by Kristen Ashley

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Grey, I'm still debating. You have 3 of my five star books on your shelf. But I also looked at your five star shelf and those books don't look anything like my five star books. I'm not sure you'd like mine.

So, I think I have it narrowed down to two that other people have raved about. Hopefully more along the lines of what you really enjoy reading.

But I'm still researching a little more.

Oh! If I ever get Leslie I'm picking PNR for her. LOL I don't think she's tried any of the really good ones yet.

Yeah, but they are NOT on her Pick List :(

message 126: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Hey - Paula got Kate...lucky bitch (which I only mean lovingly!!!) If you pick On The Island for her, she can join our buddy read (or she can just join our buddy read either way).

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Alright Grey - it has to be RUSH (Rush, #1) by Emma Scott for you in June. It sounds right up your angst alley and 24 of my GR friends have rated it 4-5 stars!!!

Hope you enjoy it!

message 128: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Fabi, I am stressing over your list. 😯
I want to pick something awesome but I havent even heard of almost everything.

I have read Idol, and it was decent, but not anything special. The only other non sci-fi/pnr/fantasy is #Junkie and I wouldnt pick that (I read #Nerd by same author & didnt like it).

Hmmmm...what to pick, what to pick...

message 129: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Jean--the reason I haven't read it is because when I read the first two back in 2012, that's all there was and that's all that was planned for. Then when the fans bugged CJR to write it, Epilogue came to be, and by then, I'd already moved on to other things, and in my mind, the series was already finished. But I've always wanted to read it, so I'm SO glad you picked it--THANK YOU!! 😍

I was SURE you would pick a Court of Thorns and Roses!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 131: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments So funny Ela, when I saw you got me I knew that is one you would pick!! Now keep in mind, I desperately want to like KA but havent had any luck so far. (I've tried Rock Chick, Knight & The Gamble) I PROMISE to give it an honest try, but please dont be upset if I dont like it.

I choose this one as many KA fans agreed this is one of the best.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Ela wrote: "I was SURE you would pick a Court of Thorns and Roses!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Nah - I didn't like it that much

Pssssssst Leslie - I'm thinking Watching and Wanting looks pretty good from her list!!!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Leslie wrote: "Hmmmm...what to pick, what to pick... ."

Leslie, feel free to pick ANYTHING from my tbr. You don't have to stick to my Pick For Me List unless you want to. It's just there to make the picking easier - not harder. LOL

Or, if there 's a book you think I should read that I don't have listed, just throw it out there. I'm game as long as it's not a crying book. I just finished one of those and I've had enough for the next dozen years.

message 135: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Leslie, then pick something you want to read. That way, she'll be your guinea pig.

Blimey - go and cook dinner and come back to loads of updates - I guessed the draw had been made! Thanks Renee.

Now to look at Kate's list - oh my! There are some beauties on there

BUT I LOVED IT!!!!!!! HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE IT THAT MUCH???? Do we have anything in common???

message 138: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Fabi, if you ever get me, I will let you pick a PNR for me. I have a special paper list of PNRs to try from all the recs you guys gave.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Ela wrote: "Do we have anything in common??? "

I don't know. Let me go see. brb

Not one single thing on that list appeals to me, that is the problem. :(

AND is not as hectic as her other Alphas, I think the writing is much different then her usual KA style... Hope you like it and if not then hey maybe KA is truly not for you especially since her slight UF/PNR rocks hard.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments welp, GR seems to think so:
"Your tastes are 72% similar for the books you both rated. Here are 97 books you have in common"

message 144: by Nay (last edited May 31, 2017 01:17PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Leslie--Wow, Fabi's list is tough! You probably can't go wrong with an m/m book though...

message 145: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Kate - I had to pick this - it has so many feels - I compare all my "feels" books on it. It is set in the UK (don't think there is too much Brit lingo in the book). The film was brilliant - can not often be said when a film of a book is released. I can't bring myself to read the second one in case it ruins the first for me.... Me Before You (Me Before You, #1) by Jojo Moyes

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Sorry guys. Those msgs were for Ela. I should have specified since so many of us are posting at the same time.

message 148: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Paula--I can't wait to hear what you think about Just an Illusion - Side A (The Illusion, #1) by D. Kelly

I think it only has 300 pages, so you should be finished with it by tomorrow afternoon! lol

LOL! But I may read it later in the month...two weeks holiday in Cornwall and as it is the UK - bound to have some days of rain = curled up with a book!

message 150: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ok Fabi, I panicked momentarily. All those fantasy type books frightened me. Hee hee

Although I love the cover of Bite & Release ( Bite & Release (Bite & Release, #1) by Cory Cyr ), I will pick...

Watching and Wanting Watching and Wanting (Housemates, #4) by Jay Northcote

I didnt notice these at first. Duh! But this one looks like a good m/m that I would choose for myself.

Happy Reading!!
