It seemed to take a long time to search for Cordelia after the attempt on Stevie's life at the restaurant. Why wouldn't they have considered her to be at risk?

The attack was on Stevie. At the time there was a lot of confusion and since there had been previous attacks and no one had come after Cordie no one thought she was in danger.

I can't remember that many pages back! If the crooked cop search was still on, recalling that Cordie had been terrified and threatened, I wonder why it didn't occur earlier to someone to wonder about possible danger.

Given that she'd already been a target, Cordelia should have been the next thought.
