'I Am Cancer Free by Mrs. Brenda C. Mohammed is the poignant memoir of the author's personal battle with cancer. Her faith in God and proving that ovarian cancer need not be a death sentence are what make this memoir a heartrending read. The author's 'never say die' attitude, the decision not to give up in life, and finally being cancer-free will encourage everyone who has been diagnosed with the disease or who has suffered from cancer. The memoir recounts from the time of diagnosis the experiences the author went through during the treatment, her emotions, fears, finances, until the successful treatment of the disease. It is a courageous story of survival, faith, and strength.

The author chronicles every step of her journey methodically, without leaving anything out, making the narration very personal, honest, and palpable to readers. The presence of God in everyone's life, a positive attitude, and the power of prayers run through the memoir. The author reiterates the fact that faith in God removes all obstacles in life. The conversational style of writing connects well with readers, making it easy for them to understand her journey. The author has also shared the poems she wrote during that phase in her life, where she again speaks about her story, faith in the Lord, and a Higher Power. For all those who are suffering from cancer and are battling the disease, this book is a must-read as it will give them hope, strength, and courage to fight the disease.'

Here is a review for 'Your Time is Now: A time to be Born and a time to die. Five stars.

Your Time is Now by Brenda Mohammed

A Time to Read: A Beautiful and Soulful Tale about Trust and Belief in the Lord!
ByAuthor JB Richardson November 16, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Having herself experienced a lifetime of tragedy and joy, Author Brenda Mohammed assumes the mantle of theologian/philosopher in her quest to understand and explain the elegance and meaning found in the biblical verses extolled in Ecclesiastes 3. In "Your TIME is NOW: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die", Mohammed fully examines each memorable and precious verse and applies them to her own life experiences. In doing so, she takes the reader on a journey through a lifetime filled with trials and tribulations, despair and hope, loss and success. The author eloquently defines Ecclesiastes 3, pointing out that, by freely accepting God's will, she has been amply blessed with a faithful family, loyal mentors, good friends, and a full life. She successfully leaves her readers with a message of hope and inspiration by sharing her belief that, through introspection and prayer, one may find meaning within the events of their own everyday experiences. She appears to be a firm proponent to the old adage, "When days seem at their darkest, surrendering and trusting in the divine will ensure peace and prosperity". All in all, I found this book to be quite engaging. The author's reflections on her childhood were beyond charming in some spots, yet brought me to tears in others. Her candidness about her relationships with parents, siblings, husband, and her own children reminded me so much of my own family's saga, and I must admit that I was thrilled to find a read that tugged at my heartstrings the way this book did! For any individual seeking solace and meaning in today's hectic world, "Your TIME is NOW: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die" is a beautiful and soulful read. Thank you, Brenda Mohammed, for sharing your journey with me!

Memoirs of Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan: Journey of an EDucator received two five-star reviews from Readers Favorite.

Memoirs of Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan: Journey of an Educator by Mrs. Brenda C. Mohammed is a biography that follows the life of a great man while providing wonderful social and cultural commentaries on the era in which he lived.
It is during the days of indentureship in Trinidad and Tobago, and readers are introduced to a period in history when few people were interested in education.
Against this backdrop, the son of uneducated, indentured immigrants from India, Mr. and Mrs. Sultan Khan, overcame all kinds of challenges to acquire the education he needed and to set an example for his generation.
Thanks to his assiduity, dedication, and strong values, he was quickly promoted to school principal and subsequently to the superintendent of schools.
Readers encounter an educator who led by example, a man who would become the first Presiding Elder in the Presbyterian Church in Trinidad and Tobago.
This biography is well researched and the author allows the subject to speak for himself through the narrative by making references to Dr. Khan's own memoirs.
The writing is beautiful, journalistic, and it is enriched by the social commentaries and historical references that allow readers vivid glimpses of what life was like in the first half of the twentieth century.
The setting comes out clearly and while the reader gets a clear picture of locales and places, the author catches the soul of the people in a brilliant way.
Memoirs of Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan: Journey of an Educator is a book that will appeal to anyone who loves biographies of great men. It is inspiring and hugely informative.
Mrs. Brenda C. Mohammed does a great job in bringing to readers a work that will inspire them and compel them to consider their own contribution to history.

Memoirs of Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan: Journey of an Educator by Mrs. Brenda C. Mohammed is a non-fiction memoir on the life, work, and thoughts of Andrew Moonir Khan. This book is compiled together by Dr. Khan's daughter, Brenda, but a lot of the book contains writing in Dr. Khan's own voice and his own hand, taken from his memoirs he had written before he passed away.
The book describes his parents' background as indentured Indians who migrated to Trinidad and Tobago around the turn of the last century to work on the sugarcane plantations.
Both of his parents had married before and divorced, and so this was the second marriage for both of them.
Andrew Khan describes their house, the tropical lushness of the surroundings, his own childhood games and interests, school and education, his first job, his career as an educator and teacher in Trinidad, his period of stay in London on a government scholarship, his involvement in the church and his faith, and his lifelong commitment to the cause of education.
What I liked about Memoirs of Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan the most. is that it depicts life in Trinidad about 100 years ago, which is little known to the outside world these days.
The history of so many immigrants, including Indians, who immigrated there is one that needs to be told.
I also liked that Mrs. Brenda C. Mohammed has included so many reminiscences and first-hand accounts and memories of various people who knew Dr. Andrew Khan, all of which portray a vivid picture of the man more than a mere biography can do.
Dr. Khan's ethics, morals, and teachings are an inspiration and, above all, present a humanitarian point of view.
I also very much appreciated his ideas on the importance of education and equal rights and opportunities for women everywhere.
This is a short and compelling read by Mrs. Brenda C. Mohammed which I would certainly recommend. Memoirs of Dr Andrew Moonir Khan Journey of an Educator by Brenda Mohammed

Pamela Allegretto | 4 comments Amazon Review:
By Sharon Hagstrom – Wayne Hagstrom
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Pamela Allegretto's latest novel "Bridge of Sighs and Dreams" is a non-stop page turner that will have you riveted and deeply involved from beginning to end. They say it's best to write "what you know" and the author has incorporated her visual ability as a painter and her life experience having lived in Italy into a captivating heart felt book. Her ability to include the smallest visual details and weave them into a cohesive whole separates her from the majority of writers who lack her artistic background. The writing is almost Hemingwayesque in its ability to visually imprint the individual scenes on the reader's mind. We see this novel. The Italian experience during World War 2 is a much overlooked piece of fascinating historical territory that Allegretto mines with the expert eye of a painter and the instinct of a natural born storyteller. The characters jump at you--we feel their personalities and quickly become embedded with this family. We want to know "what happens next" and this feeling never leaves the reader throughout the book. The author keeps her chapters short and never bores us with superficial page fillers that bog down so many lesser reads. If surprise is the key element of a great story--this novel is full of the unexpected twists and turns that only the best books give us. Pour yourself a glass of Italian wine, sit down and open this novel--you won't look at that cell phone for days.

This is the latest five-star review I received for HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS. I thank Sania Zakir for this wonderful review.
"Learning from others depends on people’s capacity to combine their personal and other’s experiences. In order to try and do that with success, individuals ought to abstract from single experiences (that they themselves or others have had) and acknowledge those options that completely different things have in common.

An established educational technique to foster these abstraction and integration processes is to use patterns. These patterns assist the internalization of others experiences and the application to new situations. HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS by the Honourable Author Ms. Brenda Mohammed is a set of such unique patterns that highlights invariant components and structural features of situations and problems encountered while writing a book.

The book is an ultimate guide for how to build characters, writing narratives and dialogues, building the story world, choosing a book cover and the title, creating different categories, things one should know before and after publishing their books, tips on how to sell yourself as an author—“the book marketing” and lastly how to get sales and reviews.

Author Brenda Mohammed is an enthusiastic and solid writer. She is sincere, resourceful and diligent in her work. Her writing reflects the amount of research on several events that has gone into it along with her knowledge and expertise in the field. I would, therefore, like to take this opportunity to congratulate her for this phenomenal work and wish her all the best for her future endeavors.

I request you to review my book - 'An Other Tale of Two Cities - In the Dragon's Lair' - Book I and Book II
published as an ebook on Amazon KDP recently.

About the book

'An Other Tale of Two Cities - In the Dragon's Lair' is a work of fiction – an epic saga of romance (if it is triangular love, can ultimate sacrifice be far behind?), humour, action and adventure, friendship, family, culture, politics, conspiracies and international intrigue as they touch on the everyday world of sports persons.
It is presented as a life journey of two friends from a small town of India, who set out to win against the formidable Chinese in the game of Table Tennis.
Readers will be able to relate to and appreciate the loves, lives and times of two great millennial nations (India and China) and their culture, told as a Tale of their Two (contrasting) Cities – Chennai and Shanghai.

The book has been structured as Book I and Book II to make it easy for the readers to absorb at their own pace.
Book I is complete by itself, while Book II would be fulfilling from the readers and authors point of view.
Both books are available as a single package and has to be read as a single book.
The book (as ebook) is available for purchase at the following Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing sites.

https://www.amazon.in/dp/B082BZQLXZ (for India)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082BZQLXZ (For US and the rest of the world)

The book was widely read and reviewed by over 50 Beta Readers both professional and amateur, and they have a given good comments and feedback on the book. I have added some of the encouraging comments on the acknowledgement section of the book. I had also thankfully used some of the feedback to improve the book. The good comments have encouraged me to publish the book as ebook.

Aside from relating how the author-poet Brenda Mohammed in an exemplary manner consummated her life journey full of hairpin turns and precipices, and with success navigating the twists and turns of the arduous track of life engaging in different walks of life like insurance and banking, her book entitled HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS renders a handy comprehensive toolkit for writers, critics, and editors.

As a novelist, book reviewer, and editor myself, I wish I had this book by my bedside for reference in my previous literary pursuits, for unlike other books I made recourse to, in a bid to fathom the literary devices authors, as well as book reviewers, are expected to well digest, HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS profits a wide array of writers if they, in good time, upload it in their backpacks.

In demonstrating the devices, presumably at the tip of her fingers, in a vivid and lucid as well as friendly manner, no instructor comes close to Brenda Mohammed, who was in the chalk and talk business earlier in her life, before she branched off into literature.

For instance, tragically as it may sound, most of the books I read recommended “Better show than tell,” while they had the propensity of telling.
In sharp contrast to this trend, in her book “HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS!” Brenda pragmatically displays the merit of show over tell by inspiring writers to go for it, reviewers to sniff it, editors to weed out flaws, and readers to know what is encumbering them to read fast, and thereby tell a good book from one that compels critics to say the game is not worth the candle.

Substantiating theory with palatable examples that remains seared on the mind, Brenda walks readers of her book through the jungle of literary devices promising a safe return.
This way HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS portrays by what means authors unerringly sail to readers’ hearts.

As it is true of the other brainchildren of hers like “I'm CANCER FREE,” this one too inspires people to go for their burning dreams with a spirit of never say die against the teeth of daunting and innumerable challenges.

Using short, simple, and toothsome sentences she is a past master at making true modern style never fail to arouse readers’ appreciation.
They are showcases of the power of the pen for authors who have to emerge tall scouting the footprints of literary giants like herself.
It exemplifies poetic prose that glues to the pages of the eyes of those who happen to pick the book. Literariness is how to make things picturesque without using pictures.
Brenda is gifted in doing that simply leaning on word pictures.
She knows how to use the best word at the best place as she is a poet too, and as she states, “to make readers gravitate to you!”
Make your expressions flowery she says in flowery words.
In short, she melts the world into words inviting writers to follow suit.
It is not only in how to use the writers’ craft the page-turner book stands tall, but it also hones emerging authors’ skill demonstrating how to trim unnecessary words and expressions.
For instance, it practically shows how to avoid weak verbs or verbs modified by adverbs.
She demonstrates to writers, “He sprinted,” is by far better than “He ran quickly”.
She also shows the advantage of avoiding hidden verbs “We will announce the winner next week” to “We will make an announcement of the winner next week.”
This is a good tip for those engaged in editorship as well.
Such useful tips she raises, apply to non-fictional works too if the balance mix is well checked.

Observably, her background with an educator like her father has lent her the necessary skills to drive her point home effortlessly.
Author-poet Brenda recommends the writer has to lean on his/her intuition to effectively portray body language.
This lulu that shot up to the global helm of success advises writers to put themselves in the shoes of the character under description.
By way of exemplifying this, she says the way the writer’s body gives away his/her emotion to flattery could be easily adapted to the characters, whose behaviors and physical features have to be well expressed.
She capitalizes on the need to focus on characters’ internal dialogues, (monologues) as well as the external ones.
To engage the readers in using their feelings, HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS shows the importance of using action than dialogue tags that slows the story’s pace. << Instead of “Yes,” he said>> it is better to use<< “Yes” he nodded.>>

Writers have to come up with a clean sheet as much as possible as spelling and grammatical errors could belittle them in readers’ eyes and strips them of credibility.
In a world full of skeptics, one typographical error, especially on cover pages, could make readers put an axe on the neck of the author.
It is no secret that book stations back off if a reader draws their attention to such mistakes.
I know firsthand that most publishers, even those that claim they publish for free ask for payment to correct such silly mistakes even if they know most authors are financially constrained and live in a country where the transaction of hard currency is virtually impossible.

Books that sell like hot cakes standing out from the crowd are ones that have a good blurb, advertisements and book reviews.
She advises authors to take time to produce works that wow their target readers and attract attention to the sale of their books.
“Use active voice to passive voice,” is also among the writing tips she demonstrates with better examples.
Regarding novels and short stories, the story premise must be clear for readers to keep track, she stresses.
To ram this home “Believable characters are the lifeblood of the story,” she points out.
Life in the story must not reflect a bed of roses, nor must characters be flawless and physically striking, she recommends to authors expected to evade the relegation of their work to the category prosaic.
The protagonist and main character should face physical or other shortcomings they have to overcome
Though show not tell, is recommendable narration and dialogue must be in the right mix, advises Brenda.

When painting, the setting be it historic setting— with political and cultural wrangling— or otherwise, writers have to conduct research to avoid mistakes like an anachronism.
As the story has to be believable double-checking things is a must-do.
She substantiates this with the study she conducted to craft a science fiction.
“Take readers on a literary pilgrimage!” and “Create a believable world!” “Use all of your five senses,” Brenda recommends.

Though it is recommendable to design plots at times, characters could allow the writer a room to go a bit astray in so far as this action does not contradict the main plot.
“A story arch is not set in stone!” she says.
She underlines the need to focus on subplots as well.
She appreciates plot summaries before attempting writing to evade getting sucked in a black hole.
When it comes to the narrative she advises limiting description and avoiding ramblings resorting to intriguing and dramatic situations. The problem and the story must be well-grounded.
The premise has to be clear.

Before publication, it sure is good for readers to get their book perused by friends or relatives who are avid readers.
Beta readers and editing software could render invaluable services in weeding out errors and checking self-contradictory issues.
It sure is good if a seasoned editor sees the final output before publication because a professional has experienced eyes in rendering the masterpiece a finishing touch.
She also shows how novelists could keep on writing to the end in a three months’ time setting, with a program of writing, say 500 words per day.
She also highlights the advantage of quietude such as night time, while writing as a distraction is formidable of creative art.
Her book also throws light on the significance of growing in a close-knitted, well-educated and reading family.

Above all, she capitalizes writers must well know their target audience to tailor works accordingly.
They as well should have a worldview to make their work a hit.
As I found the writer imperfectly perfect I could not find any flaws in the book.
Check this must-read yourself.

A First of a Kind - 87 authors have teamed up to break the silence on incidents of domestic violence they have either witnessed or suffered, by writing poems and articles in this ground-breaking book.
They have decided that no longer must they stay silent and allow the egos of their spouse or partners to maintain an upper hand, verbally, physically, emotionally, or financially.
Together they have decided to give a voice to Domestic Violence and they have done it well.
Kudos to these bestselling co-authors as their efforts are not going in vain.
The highlight of this book is the dynamic article written by Rt. Rev. Joy Abdul-Mohan, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Trinidad and Tobago.
She gave her profound biblical views on Domestic Violence and condemns it.
Another brilliant article is written by Shiju H Pallithazheth, Founder of Motivational Strips, the world's most active writers' forum.
He gave a broad view of the subject and condemned it too
BREAK THE SILENCE topped the charts on Amazon and made it to Amazon Bestseller No 1 in Poetries and Anthologies.

I received a beautiful review for Barry Holmes Mysteries from Readers Favorite International.
Reviewed By Peggy Jo Wipf for Readers' Favorite
Barry Holmes Mysteries: Tales of Mysterious Disappearances by Brenda Mohammed combines three intriguing mystery thrillers. When Barry Holmes realizes that he is not good enough for Crystal's father, he leaves the Caribbean Islands. Five years later, she desperately needs his help finding her daughter. Through this act of love, Barry finds a new career and family. He then becomes the head detective; he faces unusual and baffling cases that stump other detectives. Honesty, trust, and intuition are his motto. Barry doesn't assume the obvious suspect is the criminal and digs deeper until the truth comes to light. The first story, The Gift of Love, was my favorite. How will he find a child that everyone claims is non-existent when the mother insists she was abducted? This was three months after she was in a coma with head injuries.
Brenda Mohammed is a refreshing author that brings out the best in her characters. Barry Holmes Mysteries includes three short stories that introduce Barry and his skills in deductive reasoning. I found the stories simple, but the plots unusual. From the beginning, the author seizes the reader's interest and draws you into the lives of her characters and the beautiful Caribbean Islands. Each story holds all the elements of a good mystery novel; well-rounded characters, a solid plot, and twists that unfold as the crimes are solved. The author is known for her diverse interests and writing abilities, which come out in her stories. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to any other Barry Holmes mysteries." The first book in the “Confessor Joe” series is a short humorous piece of writing which takes the reader through some of the formative events in the protagonist’s childhood and his subsequent work as a Catholic priest. The rambunctious, hard-to-control boy grows into a well-meaning Father who tries to do the best for his parishioners, but gets into trouble due to his unorthodox methods. The style of writing is slightly reminiscent of the stream of consciousness (with punctuation) as the dialogue and the thoughts of the characters flow into one another without a break. The humour stems from the situations in which the Father finds himself, as well as from his hidden thoughts and desires. I look forward to finishing the second and third books in the trilogy and finding out how Father Joe’s life evolves after he reaches the conclusion that being a Catholic priest is his vocation after all.

I am sharing a review of my book HE IS THE ONE
"When I found out Brenda Mohammed was promoting this book HE IS THE ONE and was reading her posts on Facebook about what it was pertaining to, I had to get this book!!
Once I received this book I was extremely excited to begin reading it and I must admit I was not disappointed after finishing this!!
Brenda touches upon so many things concerning not only the end times that we are living in, but also scriptures throughout this Blessed book for the reader to cross-reference and meditate on the True Word given.
Without giving too much away about what this book is all about I can give you some insights and examples you can expect when reading HE IS THE ONE.
Some of the examples you'll read in this book, Brenda writes about are, God's covenants, the Birth of Jesus, Jesus' ministry, and His parables.
There's a chapter on "Is there an afterlife"?
You will also read about The Book of Revelation, God's Plan for man, and creating a peaceful world.
In the introduction of the book, Brenda quotes John 10: 8-10 "I am the bread of life, I have the words of eternal life, whoever finds me finds life, whoever believes in me has eternal life, and whoever believes in me his name will be written down in the Lamb's Book of Life."
Humankind's greatest desire is to live forever.
God is offering this to all on a platter.
As you continue, the book rolls into how one can learn and also have Jesus come into your heart, have you saved, and develop a personal relationship with Him.
I definitely can tell The Great Lord was working through Brenda as she was writing this book and speaking through her on how to help the reader follow the truth that she was expressing,
For example, those that are familiar with scripture and the Bible can really follow along easily with what she's expressing, and even if one isn't too familiar, Brenda gives simple step by step explanations on the gospel and teachings so you can really get a grip and understanding of what Jesus did.
You will gain some great and insightful knowledge along the way.
Something I like to offer is, as you're reading HE IS THE ONE, have a Bible handy so you can cross-reference the scriptures that are on these pages.
You can follow along and meditate and apply these scriptures to your life that you feel may speak to you as well.
One of the chapters in HE IS THE ONE that may be short, yet was really an emotional read, was the chapter, "Jesus condemned" where Brenda gives you such a surreal reading on what it was like for Jesus before his crucifixion,
She gives a surreal and emotional explanation to the reader.
Brenda also blesses the readers at the end of HE IS THE ONE with some great and blessed Poems to read.
There's a great quote that is included on a title of a poem, that really spoke to me and one should include and practice in their lives.
I wrote it down for me to meditate on every day.
"Those who put everything in God's hand will eventually see God's hand in everything" by Ron Nelson Jr.
I highly recommend HE IS THE ONE for everyone that is a believer, as well as those wanting to know about the days we are living in and what's to come,
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
I give this a 5 Star rating. Brenda did a great job on delivering a great Book for the times we are all living in!!
Much Love with God's Blessings 🙏🙏❤️❤️

BOOK REVIEW FROM READERS FAVORITE
Reviewed by Lois Henderson for Readers' Favorite
Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories by Brenda Mohammed is aimed at helping the reader trace the line of descendants as far back as to the beginning of mankind, with the story of Adam and Eve.
Mohammed, who is a firm believer in the fact that “the Bible is God’s biography written by his chosen ones,” explains, with the help of quotations from the Bible, how the contents of each of its books relate to the whole.
Mohammed ends Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories with additional material that provides true value for the reader, including the importance of having our names written down in the Book of Life; the text of her favorite two Psalms, 23 and 121 (which is my favorite, too) and a conclusion, confirming her desire (which she has successfully fulfilled) to write a story of God’s chosen ones from each book in both the Old and the New Testament.
I love the way Brenda Mohammed, in her work Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories, affirms her desire that the stories she retells in accessible and straightforward language will convince the reader of the genuineness and authenticity of their source in divine will. For any newcomer to the Bible, Mohammed’s clear and simple explanation of the primary focus of each book is illuminating.
Her earnest and heartfelt urging that “all God wants from us is obedience” is a resounding call to us to listen to the word of God and to obey.
In short, Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories is a wonderful supplement to the Bible, although, as Mohammed clearly states, it is certainly no replacement for it.

This book so well written and easy to read. The author tells his life story in such a way that it keeps the reader intrigued. I’ve never read a book quite like this one; it was really interesting to read the perspective of someone who has been through all of these things in their life.
I also really loved how descriptive his writing was and definitely plan to get his other book and anymore that come out in the future!
