Word.... :)
So so sorry I'm late guys. I posted about half votes and will post the rest when I wake up. Please forgive me. Don't know if they will have any effect. Dana it was a hard sell. I also wanted to pick Anne, Salt and I hear Unbroken is incredible.

No worries Amy, we know life can get crazy sometimes ;-)
Thanks Amy! You made Cinder a tie for first, so I will definitely be reading that for our buddy read.I am still trying to finish my May read - Memoirs of a Geisha. OMG i don't think I've ever spent so much time on a book...

Sorry for complaining. I forgot you were going on vacation.
I started LaRose _(a clear winner for this month). It's a lovely, lovely book - I'm so happy to be reading it - I keep thinking about it during the day ...
It's been a hectic week for me and I've not had chance to read much, i haven't even started my May book and have loads of library books to read too! We had friends visiting for the weekend but they have gone now and its a bank holiday, so as its going to rain most of the day (so no gardening) I am planning to read :-)

I having been handling the phones with the updates so can't seem to concentrate on my reading. Tomorrow, come hell or high water, I am reading.
Bird Box was such a bizarre book, I'm not surprised you had dreams/nightmares about it, Perri. I'm really glad I read it though, I found it unsettling but in a good way, like all good horrors should! I've been trying to find more time to read over this bank holiday weekend as I've been horribly negligent lately. The epic storm in SE England last night kept me awake until about 3am so I got through the lame kindle unlimited romance I was reading (thank god it was free) and am now waiting for my daughter to go off and spend the day with her dad so that I can sink my teeth into my June winner early, which I think is going to be The Secret of Spellshadow Manor :)

Anyway I've read for a couple of hours this afternoon and hope to do a bit more tonight :-)
Sophie wrote: "Bird Box was such a bizarre book, I'm not surprised you had dreams/nightmares about it, Perri. I always find it scarier when you don't know what it is that's scaring you! As soon as I see the 'monster' in movies it becomes boring (mostly).
Not reading for a few days - help how can you survive it at all? I get the first signs of withdrawal after half a day ;-) That's why I have a book lying next to the loo - one of the best places to read (in peace)!
No apologies necessary, Patricia! I've had a lot going on. Not even vacation stuff. I'll explain later as to not be elusive. Just life dumps, yanno? Road block upon road block. I just keep trying to think, things could always be worse. Things could be worse. Things could be worse. This I know for sure. Lol As long as you've got your health right. And people to love.
I'm with ya', Dana! Since I forgot my All The Light We Cannot See book on my work trip to BC, I picked my other one back up that I was finding slow. I feel so sad since it was one I wanted to read forever. Now that I'm finally over halfway through, it's picked up though. I can't wait to get to my May book because I know that will kill the reading slump. Angela Marsons, you're almost up!I may miss the Cinder read. Insert sad face here. I won't be home until my trip and that's where the copy is that I got for Xmas. It's a giant book so I don't know if I'll bring it on trip. But you never know. I usually pack everything but the kitchen sink and need only half of it lol
So glad you liked Bird Box so much, Perri! That ones been on my radar since Sophie really liked it last year. Sounds really scary to give a nightmare!Mandy, I am also so behind lately. I can't wait to be home in my own bed for even a few days before trip. I get to read more at home for sure.
So glad you're enjoying La Rose, Ann! It had such an interesting premise. Sheesh!
I just finished a great book Turn On the Light So I Can Hearand wanted to recommend it to you. It's something different (no thrill, mystery or suspense) though I still could immagine some of you could like it. Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Rubbish isn't it, it may be next week before I even get around to my May read!! Arrgh :-(

Huh, I'm surprised I didn't vote for the S. King book. I haven't heard of it, need to add it to my list. Vicki, it's four stories?
Yes, four longer short stories. Each one was excellent. So scary, evil, dark. I listened to it on audible and the dogs got extra long walks each night.
I'll be starting my winner, A Good Place to Hide: How One French Village Saved Thousands of Lives During World War II next week.
Me as well with And Then There Were None, will be my first Agatha Christie mystery followed by Dark Matter since I've been suggested to read both. #overexcited
Thanks everyone for votes :)
You won't be disappointed in Mrs. Christie, Aesaan! And yes, that Stephen King sounds great. I added it too. I had never heard of it and I loved his Nightmares & Dreamscapes years ago.
Looks like our own David Staniforth's title is up for me. Imperfect strangers won this month. Bought it a few months ago and have been so stupidly slow getting to this or Void. I heard they are both four and five star.
My winner is Close Your Eyes by Michael Robotham. This will be my first book by him. It has great reviews.
Vicki wrote: "@Mandy YEEEESSS! So glad that won for you. I loved that one. Dark, dark stuff."
Cool Vickie, I like it dark :-)
I wonder about something I saw in the page read total section. Someone read 41 books in May for over 16,000 pages.some of these books were over 500 pages in a day. I don't see how it is humanly possible

HI Sue, welcome! June's fun is done and we're on to July. We're a forward thinking group!. So find the July PIFM thread and list 5-10 books you want to read and the group will vote on the one we want you to read in the July selection thread. Make sense? It was confusing for all of us at first!
Yeah, Sue... put all the books on the same post in the thread too. Or, else, you'll confuse old people like me!

Thanks anyway Perri.
I suppose I could always try and read both or just pick one and try and read the other next month as don't want to put myself under too much pressure. will see what happens at the end of the month :)
