What's in the chest both Bast and Kvothe are unable to open?

Midway through The Wise Man's Fear Kvothe has Bast attempt to open a locked chest. Kvothe playfully mocks Bast for his inability to open the chest. Bast snaps in frustration and gives up.
At the end of the novel Kvothe takes out two keys (one copper one iron I believe) from a hiding spot in his rooms. Kvothe then goes to open the chest. Again the reader is left puzzled as the shadow of a man Kvothe once was is unable to open his own locked chest.
My question is simple, what is in the chest?
I personally believe that the chest contains Kvothe's powers and knowledge of names, which is why he is unable to use either in the present. He must have also looked with some sort of sympathy his knowledge the Katan while training with the Adem, which is why he got his guts handed to him by the two soldiers near the end of the novel. Also plausibly locked inside somehow is Kvothe's knowledge of how to open the chest, which is why even he can't open it.

What do you guys think?

Very interesting I like the name idea. It's a better way of explaining my theory.

I feel like Brad Pitt's character at the end of "SE7EN": "What's in the box!!! Tell me!!"

Kvothe acquires the box at the end of book two. Don't want to give any spoilers but it may be a family heirloom.

Books 2 talk about names several times. So I think the chest contains part of his name. Its implied that taking part of something name changes the things. Which makes me think he hid away part of his name to become a new person to hide or atone for what he's done.

I don't think his name is in the box. Not to go too far off topic, but I think the reason that he can't use magic or fight worth a damn is because he's changed his name from Kvothe to Kote and, as warned by Master Elodin, there are some serious dangers to changing one's name since the name captures the full essence of the individual. The man who was Kvothe is now more Kote than he is Kvothe. Hopefully, telling his story to Chronicler will bring him back to himself enough that he will be able to become himself again and throw off the Kote persona.

Or is it the mysterious, unopenable Lackless box?

Sorry to be lame but it could just be random stuff he loves. aka his lute, the lamp he and swore never to give away, his copy of Rhetoric and Logic that Ben gave to him ....who knows.. But the name idea is awesome though!
