This book is set in a town called Hayden where the towns old football hero returns, then there's this lady who keeps on going for PAP tests because she's scared of cervical cancer, there's also a middle aged "daddy's girl" woman who has two children(boy and girl) and a husband whose a coffin maker or something. Her daughter is a brat just like her and likes her brother a little too much.
the cover is pink and it was probably published in the '80's or so.
