Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Awesome! That will definitely help, Hannah.

I'll be finishing London in the Dark in a couple of days, so I could take Location.

Caitlyn, would you like to take Nourishment with the teacup book?

Hannah, do you mind waiting to see what categories Seneca and Bess can cover since you have one for every category?

If this doesn't work for anyone, let me know. I really am flexible on this stuff. :)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Looks like transport is the orphan thus far, unless Bess is reading one currently...

Sweet! That's one of hers I haven't read yet. I've really enjoyed the books of hers I have read, particularly the Edwardian Brides series. I hope you enjoy it!

message 207: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Unless something changes and Bess needs the category, I will be reading A Secret Courage (The London Chronicles #1) by Tricia Goyer

message 208: by Andrea (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I'll take sleeping accommodations. Thanks, Hannah!!

message 212: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Sure! This book should be a fairly quick read...

message 214: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Mine's finished. I'll post a review tonight.

message 215: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Great job, Hannah! I'm switching from London In The Dark (Light of London #1) by Victoria Lynn to Bon Appetit (French Twist #2) by Sandra Byrd for mine, since I'll be finishing that one sooner (hopefully today).

message 218: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn Santi | 811 comments I just finished mine and got the review posted! :)

message 219: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Great job, Caitlyn! I'm glad to know that's a good book. It's already on my tbr. Looks like I need to bump it up a little.

Hannah, thanks for getting your review in today!

Bess, is that a plantation house on the cover? It's beautiful!

Seneca, what book are you reading for our Souvenir category? (jewelry)

Keep up the great teamwork, y'all!

message 220: by Els (new)

Els (els-the-epical) Weelll... I was going to read Emma, because I'm about halfway through it and really need to finish it so I can sell it back to the bookstore (unless, of course, it takes a turn to the more enjoyable) But somehow I doubt I'll finish that one, so it'll probably be Our Hearts Were Young and Gay: An Unforgettable Comic Chronicle of Innocents Abroad in the 1920s- an old favorite and not to long. I need a laughter-inducing book right about now. :)

message 221: by Els (new)

Els (els-the-epical) Emma has a necklace and brooch on the cover, and OHWYaG has a necklace.

And 'gay,' of course, is used in the 1920s sense. :)

message 222: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Ah, the good old days! Enjoy that laughter-inducing book. And if that doesn't work, pop in a Cary Grant movie. :)

message 223: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Andrea, it is a plantation home on the cover. I borrowed the series from the library. So, a rare paperback experience. I keep losing my place because I put the book down without a bookmark. *sigh
LOL!

message 224: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Out of the bookmark habit, eh? Should I send you a few? I have some of my own and a couple of Kim Sawyer's bookmarks left. If you'd like some, send me a message with your address.

message 225: by Els (new)

Els (els-the-epical) Got my review posted! Poor Emma will sit around a while longer. :)

message 226: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Nicely done, Seneca! Maybe fresh eyes will allow you to enjoy Emma better later. I read that one earlier this year or late last year and really enjoyed it. But I could see how it wouldn't be on everyone's favorite list. She's a bit precocious.

message 227: by Els (last edited Jun 19, 2017 12:24PM) (new)

Els (els-the-epical) It isn't that- I just got a little bored with high society after a while. I'd just finished read P&P, and they all just gave me an "eehhhh..." feeling. Their only redemption is Austen's witty writing, without which I would have tossed away the books as having no plot long before now. I'm a history person, but not a "let's spend all day talking about our neighbors" person, if you know what I mean.

message 228: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Ah... Yes, I get your meaning.

You might not want to read A Sapphire Season by Lynn Morris , then. I'm only in chapter three, and I don't know what the story's goal is yet. Lots of high-society gossip so far. It is light and breezy, perhaps too much so, but it's also in omniscient POV, which is driving me crazy. I want a clear POV character per scene, please! :D

message 229: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments How's your book coming, Bess?

Y'all, this round ends on June 28. Is everyone getting ready for our next categories?

message 230: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Since we haven't heard from Bess, should I go ahead and post my review of a sleeping accommodations book? When she gets back, she can post her review and I can take mine down, if she's done. With two days left to read, I thought perhaps it would be helpful if I went ahead and made sure our categories are covered, just in case.

What do you ladies think?

message 231: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Sounds good to me, Hannah. Thank you!

message 232: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn Santi | 811 comments That sounds great to me, too. Thanks so much, Hannah :)

message 233: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I'll write up my review over lunchtime, then!

message 234: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Sounds great, Hannah.

message 235: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Review is posted.

message 236: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Yay! That finishes up this round for us. Great job, girls!

message 237: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Thanks, Hannah! I'm still reading my accommodations book. I got a job promotion...thank you G-d. But now, I'm doing 2 jobs instead of 1 until we can hire someone else. Plus, school, kids, and my tiny crochet business took off like a shot! Who knew....

message 238: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Praise God! Bess, I'm so excited for you, with all your endeavors taking off. A job promotion is amazing and a help on the finances side of things. Congratulations!

message 239: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Thanks!! I don't want this to fall by the wayside...I'm having lots of fun with the group...I'm not sure how to juggle more though. :(

message 240: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments No problem! Keep working on your book, but don't quite finish it until the next category is called. Then you can count it for the next round. Two more days...think that would work?

message 241: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Bess, I know what you mean. I've got a library book due Friday (it's ILL, so I don't know if I can get it extended or not) and a review book due on Monday. It's tough to decide which one to work on first as I'm halfway through the review book but the library one is due first. I switched to the library one today and am hoping it's a quick read since it's suspense.

Hannah, what a great idea!

message 243: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn Santi | 811 comments I can do either Location or Transportation!

message 244: by Els (new)

Els (els-the-epical) I finished a Location one today, and then perhaps I could do the bonus one to make up for all my shirking? Although I am dreadfully busy right now.

message 245: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Ooh! We get a bonus opportunity! Sweet!

I'll check my upcoming books and get back to you ladies.

message 246: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Does anyone have Wish You Were Here (Wish You Were Here, #1) by Beth K. Vogt in their TBR pile? I've already read it (twice), and I know for a fact it mentions postcards. Plus it's got some on the cover.

message 247: by Andrea (last edited Jun 28, 2017 08:10PM) (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Seneca, the round starts tomorrow, so I'm not sure your Location book will work since you finished it today. Do you have another? Don't stress on having to read two books since you're really busy.

My next two books work for the Bonus: Outdoor Scene and Sleeping Accommodations. I'm cool doing one or both categories.

My next two books: Bringing Maggie Home by Kim Vogel Sawyer Grounded Hearts by Jeanne M. Dickson

message 248: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Bess may do Sleeping Accomodation....

I'm flexible. Next week I should have a little time to read. :)

message 249: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Oh, that's right! I forgot she was still working on that one.

Does anyone have the fruit/veggie category covered? I'm not sure I have a book for that.

message 250: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments I should be able to find something if no one else can.
