"To Kill a Mockingbird" is a novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. It was immediately successful, winning the Pulitzer Prize, and has become a classic of modern American literature. The plot and characters are loosely based on Lee's observations of her family, her neighbors and an event that occurred near her hometown when she was 10 years old.

The book was made into the well-received 1962 film with the same title, directed by Robert Mulligan and starring Gregory Peck. It is also Robert Duvall's big-screen debut, as the misunderstood recluse Boo Radley.

In 1995, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Allison Did no one seriously read this?!?!?!

I am shocked.

This is tied for my (ok maybe a close second) of my favorite book ever! And I love the movie! Gregory Peck, who plays Atticus, is my favorite actor EVER!!!!
