Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Hero's cousin Victoria comes for a visit. What were your initial impressions of her? Do you think she played a role in the death of Hero's mother?

Phrynne | 607 comments I am sure she did,! She just seems devious to me:) And Hero doesn't really like her.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I suspected her right away. She seemed a little too keen on establishing a connection with Jarvis. I think she set her eyes on being the next Lady Jarvis and took steps to clear the marital field.

Phrynne | 607 comments I just hope Jarvis himself did not have a part in it.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments The woman is a Black Widow. Jarvis had better watch his back!

I'm leaning towards him not being involved but it wouldn't surprise me if he were. Now that I think about it, I'm curious that he's never tried to rid himself of his "addled" wife before.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I can't see Jarvis helping to poison his wife. He's not that subtle. If he wanted to do away with her, he'd arrange for her to commit suicide.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I think he'd stage it to look like a death from natural causes. I think Jarvis would shy away from intentionally creating the scandal of suicide. People might think his wife was just that desperate to get away from him. And who knows, Lady Jarvis' death didn't seem to set off any red flags for anyone so far, not even her doctor. I'm sure once Hero gets to thinking about it she'll get suspicious. She's just in the thick of grieving right now. But I still don't truly believe that Jarvis was involved.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Veronica wrote: "I think Jarvis would shy away from intentionally creating the scandal of suicide. "

That's a good point. But, like you, I don't think he had a hand in killing her. It was Victoria getting Lady Jarvis out of the way so that she could go after Jarvis.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments With everyone so afraid of Jarvis and his power, it's curious that cousin Victoria apparently has no qualms about murdering his wife out from under him. I don't think he'll really care that Lady Jarvis is dead. I think it will bother him more that this was done right under his nose and he didn't know.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Victoria has been living in India most of her life. I wonder if she is aware of Jarvis's reputation and if she is whether she truly understands his power.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I'm sure she's at least heard of him but you're right in that his reputation and the danger he represents probably feels more remote and detached to her given her geographic distance from him.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Wouldn't it be ironic if the Black Widow got rid of Jarvis? I can't see Harris taking this tack, but who knows? She has intriguing intertwinings that we don't even see behind the scenes with Jarvis.

I did NOT like Victoria. I have little doubt that she somehow could have hastened the death of Hero's mother. Hero certainly had no love for her distant cousin, and there is something questionable about the former companion's sudden need to leave, isn't there?

I would be disappointed if that happened. Jarvis's machinations are a huge part of the ongoing storyline and I'm waiting for a Hero/Jarivs showdown at some point.

The companion's disappearance is what originally alerted me to the possibility that something was going to happen to Lady Jarvis. Victoria manipulated that situation in some way.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I want a Hero/Jarvis showdown too but I admit that there would be a sort of justice to seeing Jarvis taken out by a member of the "weaker sex". He thinks himself so untouchable. At the very least, if Victoria is exposed as Lady Jarvis' murderer, Jarvis may end up with the unwanted realization that he was fooled by a mere woman. I don't think his ego could take it.

Yes! That would be fantastic!

Oh, I love your proposition, Veronica.

I don't believe Jarvis had anything to do with Annabelle's death but am sure Victoria did. Jarvis us definitely attracted to her and I can see him connecting with her later. He's not unhappy Annabelle is dead but wasn't interested in doing away with her. Victoria, though, will have more to fear from Hero than Jarvis. She needs to go down.

B%#*h.

Agreed Lauren. Victoria has already been a widow twice.

I felt there wasn't something right about Victoria as soon as she appeared on the scene. I can't quite put my finger on what, but she's just fishy.

I'm doubtful Jarvis had anything to do with Lady Jarvis' death. I do actually believe he loves his daughter, even if he hates her husband.
