Often the lines of Sci-Fi and fantasy blur. More people classify this as fantasy but there are some who classify it as Sci Fi - dystopia. I personally say if you feel it works I am OK with it. We have a short challenge this time so the idea is to read as many different genre's as you can. Hopefully a few books will take you out of what you normally read.
Update post #3Finished
Science Fiction.First book in this series I've really gotten into, so much so that I want to now read the next one but it's 800 odd pages and I'll never finish this challenge if I do.
Diane wrote: "It is an awesome series - don't let it slide away!"Oh definitely not going to, in fact I want to read the last one now but decided to finish this challenge first.
Wow Amy and Laurel you both took right off on this shortened challenge. Congrats on reaching the half way point so soon!
Diane wrote: "Wow Amy and Laurel you both took right off on this shortened challenge. Congrats on reaching the half way point so soon!"Lol thanks Diane. School just got out so now I have time to read again!

Update post #3Finished
Urban Fantasy (Adult)Thanks Diane, I'm liking this challenge. Might have to have a little bit of a break now though as I have to read the next Kate Daniels!
Book 1 of 7Non-Fiction
*I've been meaning to read this book (instead of just excepts) for a very looong time.
Book 2 of 7
Fantasy
*I can't tell if it is MG or YA, but it WAS good.
OK I am a sucker for these challenges even though I am often torn between books " I want to read" and books that "fit the challenge" I just can't seem to pass the challenge up though. That being said I have finished this challenge! I choose books that I already own from different genre's. I also targeted books that were not ultra long (between 2-350 pages for most) because it was a shorter time to complete the challenge. My list of books and dates finished are shown in post #4. The highlight of this challenge was
which was on my TBR list for awhile and the 1st read. Great book!! The low point was
which was a free book I picked up and was just eh. It was the last book I read.Good luck on chipping away on your individual challenges. Happy reading!

Updated post #14."
I thought it was well themed, even if the romance was too heavy. And that cliffhanger of an ending!
*I do agree the first book in the series was much better.
Casey wrote: Melanie that series get even better. Loved it."That's what everyone says, but I don't yet own the whole series...to the TBR it goes.
Diane wrote: "OK I am a sucker for these challenges even though I am often torn between books " I want to read" and books that "fit the challenge" I just can't seem to pass the challenge up though. That being sa..."Congrats at finishing, Diane!!

How it works:
♦ As usual, we will be reading 6 books. Each book is from a different genre.
♦ Audio books and New Releases are allowed.
♦ All of the books MUST be at least 150 (paper) pages in order to qualify for this challenge. If the kindle or ebook pages are different than the paper count, please provide the correct number, so no books are left out unjustly.
♦ Only 1 non-YA book will be allowed for this challenge, this includes NA, Middle Grade, and Adult.
Please, when you are updating the thread and your numbered tally post, list out exactly what genre the book fits. for instance:
Okay, I'm ready for your questions, and happy Challenge to you all!
