message 4: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I love it! Its so much more fun picking someone else's read rather than our own.

Thanks Grey for being an awesome mod!

message 5: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Thanks, Grey!

message 6: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Smooches Grey!!!!!!!!!

message 7: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Yay! Thanks Grey! I love everyone's picks and agree with Leslie....it's more fun (and easier) picking for someone else!

message 8: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Sure is...I'm stuck with Hausfrau!

message 9: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Haha Ela! I am not jealous of you for that one.....although I have it, I don't know when the hell I'll actually read it!

I love that you picked From Rags for Michelle though....that one is an oldie, but goodie!

message 10: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Right Jean!!!! I love that author's other "stuff" too.

I don't know why but the title "Hausfrau" intimidates me...LOL

message 11: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I haven't read anything else by Suzanne Wright, but just added Burn to my TBR!

Yes, that's right, it's intimidating and I can't even explain why.....

message 12: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments 25% in on Consequences and I have been reading it for ages as Bank Holiday here in the U.K. I hated Tony then started to like him and now back to hating him!!

Did you get to the part that (view spoiler)

Jean | 1658 comments Paula wrote: "25% in on Consequences and I have been reading it for ages as Bank Holiday here in the U.K. I hated Tony then started to like him and now back to hating him!!"

Ugh Paula......hate is too nice of a word for me when it comes to Tony!

message 15: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Not yet Ela - he has just been sweet after the BBQ when she explained - this bloke is giving me whiplash!

message 16: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Yeah, it's not exactly a sane book. Tony is pure UGH, but the book is like reading a train wreck. Just try and look away before something happens. Though, for me, once it did, I'd put it down and vent like crazy.

message 17: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments And you simply cannot stop after book 1...because it takes several of the books before most can even consider that Tony might possibly be redeemable...except Ela, who even if there were 100 books and he saved kittens, rescued babies from burning buildings, cured cancer, and made cupcakes a diet food, would still call him a fucktard!!

message 18: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments He isn't redeemable. lol He is a fucktard.

message 19: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Blahahaha Lisa, that was great!

Guess I better move book 2 back up on my TBR!

message 20: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Lisa, LMAO!!!!

Paula, I just loooooooooooooved Consequences series. Its a mind f@ck of epic proportions. I hope you enjoy it, but the 3rd book was my fave. Thats when I fell for Tony.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Jean your book has so much love. I'm a little jealous you're reading it. LOL

See that's where you're wrong my dear Lisa! If Tony gave me a life supply of phentermine or made me skinny, back to where I was 8 years ago THEN he's be redeemable....on second thought you're right, probably Never!

TONY THE FUCKTARD

Oops I didn't speak (write) clearly. I meant that your book has a lot of love from other readers.

message 30: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Come on! I can't be the ONLY one who has fallen for bad guy romance heros? Lisa, some help here PLEASE!! 😉

And....yep! I do in fact love Tony. 😗

message 31: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I adore Tony. He is my favoritest alpha asshole EVER. I forgave him and he is redeemed. All you others just don't understand him like Leslie and I do!!! What's a little (view spoiler) between friends anyway!!! Actually, that's a really sensitive issue and nothing to even joke about, and I'm not making light of it....erase, erase, erase!!! But I do love Tony ever so much.

message 32: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Lisa, like Maryse says "only in books".

Hey, plenty of people like to read murder mysteries right? It doesn't mean they are condoning murder.

So, just because gal falls for a fictional abuser, sex trafficker, hit man, etc. it doesn't make us crazy. (Well, maybe just a "little" crazy)

*takes a shot*

message 34: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments ROFL He did so much more. Also, you notice I love those types of books but usually avoid loving the hero. I adored Fear Me, but uh, Kellan's an ass.

Also, our murder mystery theory doesn't work. In those, no one falls in love with the murderer... Though, someone should write that book, right?

Oh my gosh - that reminds me of a series of books I read. He was like a serial killer, and she was a psychologist/FBI profiler...and he stopped killing when he took up with her, and helps her solve murders. It was really quite strange, but good. Can't for the life of me remember the name or if I'm remembering it quite right.

message 39: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments It is tough to wrap your head around why some of us can love certain controversial characters.

I chalk it up to brilliant authors.

message 40: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
I'm sure we've loved a killer...haven't we?

message 41: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Of course we have Grey! Off the top of my head, the King series, Hades Hangmen, and all the MC books...... they don't hesitate to kill when they feel it is justified!

message 42: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments OMG - Naz from Monster In His Eyes series. THUD!!!

message 43: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Um hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (view spoiler)

message 44: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I recently fell in love with Russian hit man/killer. Last Hit Last Hit (Hitman, #1) by Jessica Clare I highly recommend this one. (Not a cliffy despite being part of series. Next book about different hitman)

Ooooo...and the Anna Zaires Capture Me and Twist Me series. Liberty Series by Leigh James. Apparently I love me some bad bad men!!! And I don't mind if they kill. It is SO time to maybe take a look at that with the help of a paid professional!

message 47: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Paula, I cant wait to hear your final verdict on Consequences.

Anna and Nay, I am dying for you to read yours!!!

I'm starting with other challenge before I tackle this one.

You have stars in your eyes, don't you. :P There were so many things he did wrong.

message 49: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments LOL I meant murder mystery. Romances with murderers... well, as long as he's good to her and again, ONLY IN BOOKS!

message 50: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Ok, you guys have peaked my interest on whether I think Tony will redeem himself. I'm jumping into book 2 now and putting my challenges for the month on the back burner for now. Wish me luck!
