What are you reading?
Its over 17hrs Donna, so we will do as much as we can tonight and then rest tomorrow when I pack to go home on Tuesday.
Never rated The Lost Symbol last nite, cos I couldn't get into it. Maybe his last 1 I just can't understand. Might need to read it instead of listening to.
I can't even begin to tell you guys how much I am loving this book! I suggest you guys read it for those of you who had not already done so. The Shadow of the Wind
My next to read is one of the books I've won Hummingbirds by Joshua Gaylord and then I am off to my 2 library books:
1- The Average American Male by Chad Kultgen
2- The Private Lives of Pippa Lee
I belive both of them are becoming films.

Were you not a little annoyed with the bum/former secret service dude/I'm smart but all I talk about is women's breasts and compare women to meat character?

Oh of course he annoyed me and I love to hate him. I have about 70 or so more pages to go. and I really wonder about him...
I found his character so unbelievable but on the other hand maybe I've just never met anyone like him. Zafon has been compared to Dickens. I don't see it other than that this character is such a caricature at times. But then again, I am not a Dickens expert either.
I don't know much about Dickens expect for A Christmas Carol. I have Bleak House and I will get to that eventaully, but I really do enjoy Zafon. I admit I am not crazy about Fermin but I am so engrossed with Julian and Daniel that I sometime forget him. Or at least I try to forget him.
I am now starting The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. It is becoming a movie and I'd like to see why. I haven't heard much about the book but it's a short quick read and I don't think it's going to compare to my last read.
I'm glad you loved it. I liked the premise and Julian but I started feeling that there was no way in hell everyone Daniel visitied could know everything about the characters in question. I couldn't help but think of Law & Order everytime Daniel talked to someone that there was a noise like "bom bom" before the next scene started. There were just a lot of little and big things that bugged me while I was reading it but it grew on me a bit after I finished it. Like I forgave it a bit. I do plan on reading The Angel's Game at some point.
LOL I see your point! I did feel that way too but I really enjoyed the premise of the story and I liked how it unfolded and I did get quite annoyed at times (The Victor Hugo pen, really?) but I too forgave it. I gave it 5 strs simply for the idea of the story!
It is one of the things of beauty that what can seem superbly wonderful to one can be comme ci comme ca to another.
Just finished up on The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and gave it 2/5 stars. Just cause!

Isn't that a YA? I also saw a bilboard for it as a movie coming out soon. How do you like it?
