I bought 1776, so I'm going to try to read it in July. I'm next up on the list for The Forgotten Garden, so I'm hoping to get it soon... the next copy due in isn't due for a little over two weeks.

If you guys don't get to The Street of a Thousand Blossoms, it's really no bid deal. I do love it though! It's a peek inside the lives of ordinary people engaged in some of Japan's oldest cultural icons - Sumo and Noh - and how they deal with Japan before and during (and maybe after?) the Japanese occupation. It's beautiful so far! I'm enjoying it so much because it's literally taking me back to all of my studies and time in Japan. If you guys do get around to it, I would LOVE to hear your opinions. :)

I already started it and I like it so far. It is always hard to read other cultures due to the lanugage and different names but I am getting it. I read a lot of books on Indian cultures and Chinese cultures so I kinda catch on quick!

I am only like 15 pages in and I have a crazy busy weekend ahead of me (My baby girl is 1 today!) but I will read it on my commute today and tomorrow.

I understand - it is sometimes hard to read books like this when you're not familiar with the culture. (Lucky me this time!) I do respect authors that use the native words as there's often something lost in the meaning when it's translated. It makes it feel more authentic to me.

I finished 1,000 Blossoms, and can't decide what to read next! The Hunger Games or The Fiery Cross? Hmmm....

I am currently HOOKED on the Outlander series, so I am right now reading Voyager, which is the third book in the series!

I just started The Fiery Cross! I'm going to take my time getting through it as I've heard that it's the least favorite of a lot of people as far as the Outlander series goes.

As far as audio books goes, I'll be done with Jonathan Strange (thank the Lord!) this week, and will probably listen to Cutting for Stone next, but I'm undecided. :)

I work full time and go to grad school so I read a lot on my commutes! And thx for the bday wishes we had a great time.

Because of the holiday weekend I achieved nothing in readin 1,000 Blossoms. Do tell your thoughts!

I really did enjoy 1,000 Blossoms overall. I was tempted to give most of the story 5 stars, but I ended up giving it 4... if you're considering reading it, I won't say why until you've read it. :)

My degree is in Asian Languages (Japanese) and Literature, so I really appreciated the story. It's honestly a beautiful story about totally innocent Japanese people and what they had to deal with during WW2 and the American occupation of Japan in the days after WW2. It's also a beautiful story of two brothers who are each trying to hang on to some of Japans oldest cultural icons - sumo and Noh.

I also loved that Tsukiyama trusted her readers, and used a lot of Japanese words. It may make it a bit harder for those not familiar with Japanese, but it's not that much, and it makes the story more authentic.

Like I said, I was sooo close to giving it five stars, and I hope that you guys enjoy it when you read it. After you guys have read it, I'll let you know why I decided to give it four stars. :)

I am almost finished with Voyager, which seems to be everybodys favorite or at least that is what they are telling me. I love it so far and I am almost at the end and I don't want it to end. I have the fourth one Drums of Autumn ready to go, but I will read a misc. book in btw. so I will make the series last longer. I hate that The Fiery Cross is not that great, but overall I am HOOKED on this series and at the end of each book, I cannot wait to start the next one, just to find out what is going to happen.

So far, Outlander and Drums of Autumn are my favorites, and Dragonfly in Amber has been my least favorite. I'm only about 65ish pages into Fiery Cross, so I can't judge it yet - but everybody seems to like TFC the least, so I'm prepared. They usually seem to say that it's their least favorite, but it's build up for the next book - so that's okay with me. If it gets that slow, I'll just take a little break and read another book - which I may have to do as I should be getting a library book sometime this week. :)

I really am trying to make the series last awhile since the next book won't be out anytime soon, but it's hard!

My all time fav is Danielle Steel and Agatha Christie. When my daughter was about 8-9 years old( she's now 15)we borrowed an Agatha Christie movie from the library..she thought Miss Marple was the greatest so I hooked her onto the Miss Marple books. She still loves them and the Masterpiece Theatre movies.

What did you think of the end? That was one wicked cliff hanger, huh? It's so awesome and mean all at the same time! It works though, because you can bet money that I will be reading Mockingjay as soon as I can. :)

I just started The Awakening and already am annoyed with it. Remember the good old days when books were better than the shows/movies? I miss those days. I haven't read one book lately that has a film adaptation where I didn't like the film version better.

I just finished The Hunger Games not too long ago and will be starting Catching Fire as soon as I get off the unbearably long waiting list at my library. :x

Jenni, you can be sure I am crazily counting down the days till Mockingjay is released! Which team are you on? My gosh, I hope Mockingjay will be as good as the previous two books. The end was very climatic. I was like, what.. What the hell is going on. Hahaha. What a ride.

Hi Rachel! I'm not sure which team you're meaning... Of course I'm rooting for Katniss, but I'm not sure if I want to see her with Peeta or Gale. I like Gale because they were always so close, but I like Peeta too!

I meant Team Peeta or Team Gale. Haha. Sorry for being cryptic. The good thing about their triangle is that I really can't choose which one Katniss should be with. If she chooses Gale, it'll break my heart. But if she chooses Peeta, it'll break my heart too. And there lies the dilemma. Haha. But I'm probably more leaning towards Team Peeta? But it's like Sophie's choice, really. Haha.
