    What are you reading?

Anna wrote: "I just finished Mistress of the Art of Death and last night I started on The Ghost of Hannah Mendes."Anna, how did you like Mistress of the Art of Death? I loved it and the other books so far in the series. The last one, A Murderous Procession, was a bit of a cliffhanger, and I can't wait until the next one.
I'm going to finish up Charlaine Harris' (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood fame) Lily Bard series by this weekend, or the first of next week. Then, I will be able to start Wedlock: The True Story of the Disastrous Marriage and Remarkable Divorce of Mary Eleanor Bowes, Countess of Strathmore, the book I nominated as one of our June reads.

Well, I can't seem to stick to my scheduled reading. Of course, that's not anything new. I just finished Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet and loved it! I'm a little over halfway through Still Alice and am spellbound by it. The past couple of days I have bought Moloka'i and Honolulu by Brennert, the reads from last month, because they have really peaked my interest. I seem to be going backwards. Yikes!

I enjoyed HOTCOBAS very much also learned something I didn't know much about in American history. In school they only had one paragraph in a text book about it.

I saw that you both gave it 5 stars! Now I gotta get to it quick. I have at least 4 ahead of it though but they are fairly short

Donna wrote: "I just got Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet from GR swap."Read it now, Donna! It's a great little book!
Finished The Nearest Exit (needed a bit of brain candy), and now I am reading Good to a Fault by Marina Endicott, which kept me up until midnight.

Jo my husband has been trying to get me to read The Gunslinger for a while now. He raves over the whole series and rereads it as soon as he is done. I'm very interested in what you think of it. Need a females perspective on it.

Thanks Jo, I like fantasy very much. Anything to cope with the mundane daily grind, if you know what I mean?

Finally finished Worst Case - James Patterson. Now I am gonna read Dark Blood - Stuart MacBride.

I started Lily's Crossing and I am sure it will be a quick one then I guess I will start Poison Study.

I started this one last night, and found it such a good read that I had trouble putting it down!
Took a break from Good to a Fault, to start Days of Grace by Catherine Hall, and now am totally engrossed in both.

It's easy to become totally immersed in this book. I even had after shocks of it, fearing I was symptomatic of early-onset Alzheimers. I'm feeling better now, almost a week later.

Kathy, I would like to read this book, but I fear I may feel the same way because my mother did have Alzheimer's.

It seems OK so far but I am only a few pages in. I t is also a mass market paperback in which I have not read one in such a long time. But I know they read through pretty quick.

I am currently reading my first book by Canadian author Lori Lansens. It is called Rush Home Road: A Novel and was recommended to me by a friend.

I have finished Ford County Stories - John Grisham. I have since read and finished Ghost Stories - Dennis Hamley, Gillian Philip, Anne Rooney & Alex Stewart, The Scream - Penny Bates, Hauntings - Mary Chapman. I am now reading To Be A Millionaire - Yvonne Coppard.

That is true. You've caught up nicely. I mostly only get to read when I am on the trian and or bus It is very hard for me to read when I am home because my kids are too young.

That's nice. I work full time too so I am limited. I try to do some reading when the nap on the weekends but I wind up doing chores instead LOL

Hey - I have two grown kids who don't live at home anymore, and I am retired, and I still cannot finish 4 books in one day, even YAs. Good job Fiona!

The one thing that makes me crazy is that Rollins is comfortable with his co-depencency with the people who "follow him" - I went to a spken word concert (my first) a couple of weekends ago and wanted to throttle him for constantly saying: "as an artist, I NEED YOU! I NEED your money, I NEED YOU" I wanted to stand up and yell: "Yeah?! So, I need a Massage and someone to cook ME dinner? wanna help ME out?" but in hind sight I get what he is saying all artists NEED the people who love their work and pay for it, we just don't always like to hear that fact.
