I am 450 pages ..."I loved Shantaram. I'm going to read it again after I'm done with DeLillo. The book I'm reading now is "White Noise" and it's really good. I got it on discount from a Borders that's closing by my house. They're really going out of business now? I've been hearing that for two years now.

I am not too sure if they are Goin gout of Business I just think they are cutting back in store locations.
I loved Shantaram but it was a big book, I don't think I would read it again but more power to ya!

      I just started

but I was so relaxed when I started reading it, that I fell asleep and only made it to page 5... my hope is to finish reading it by the time my new first-read win gets here. I know Colleen had asked what Fever Crumb is about, and I forgot to answer. Here is Amazon.com's description:
Fever Crumb is a girl who has been adopted and raised by Dr. Crumb, a member of the order of Engineers, where she serves as apprentice. In a time and place where women are not seen as reasonable creatures, Fever is an anomaly, the only female to serve in the order. Soon though, she must say goodbye to Dr. Crumb-nearly the only person she's ever known-to assist archeologist Kit Solent on a top-secret project. As her work begins, Fever is plagued by memories that are not her own and Kit seems to have a particular interest in finding out what they are. Fever has also been singled out by city-dwellers who declare her part Scriven. The Scriveners, not human, ruled the city some years ago but were hunted down and killed in a victorious uprising by the people. If there are any remaining Scriven, they are to be eliminated. All Fever knows is what she's been told: that she is an orphan. Is Fever a Scriven? Whose memories does she hold? Is the mystery of Fever, adopted daughter of Dr. Crumb, the key to the secret that lies at the heart of London?

Just finished Silent Partner and it was ok. Now I am going to read Bitch Goddess Notebook as its for someone else.

Attempted to read The Bitch Goddess Notebook - Martha O'Connor and really can't get into going backwards and forwards between 3 characters. Now I need to think what sort of mood I am in to read.

I have decided to read The Murder Exchange - Simon Kernick and then I will read Little Face - Sophie Hannah.

I read Lincoln's Dreams by Connie Willis over the weekend, excellent book, and I'm reading and loving A Murderous Procession by Ariana Franklin now (it's the 4th book in the Adelia Aguilar--Mistress of the Art of Death--series).

So I started my ARC The Last Track and even know it is not my type of book I am really enjoying it! AND He signed it and I love when they do that!

I finished The Tale of Halcyon Crane: A Novel and The Kitchen House: A Novel. Am in the middle of A Long Long Way, with The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott on board. The Help is standing by.

Yes, Donna we will give you until Monday, but no later. As a fellow pusher, you know we mean business. LOL!

Over the weekend I read Thirteen Reasons Why and The Road... each took me only a day to read! Now reading The Moonstone... its gonna take me a little longer :)

Yes, yes you will! (torture devices read and waiting, including pictures of the book cover splashed all over this group and your page-hehehe)
I have been so busy pushing Donna that I haven't been posting what I've been reading. I just finished A Murderous Procession by Ariana Franklin, the 4th in the Adelia Aguilar series. I loved, loved, loved it! I love the whole series. I am now reading The Wife's Tale: A Novel by Lori Lansens, author of one of my favorite books, The Girls. Lansens takes characters that you would think you don't have anything in common with and shows you the common thread of humanity in all of us.

I don't think I have heard anyone say they DIDN'T like the Help... but I'm waiting till it's out on paperback :P

Just finished Flowers for Algernon and have started World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War ... I needed a change of pace from Algernon.

Just a reminder, Donna, that tomorrow is Monday. Isn't there something you're going to start tomorrow?

HA HA!! Well I lied! I got hit with a test on Wednsday and have to study so no readin until Wednesday!!!!

I'll forgive you until Wednesday, but if you haven't started it by Thursday, we may just have to come hunt you down... tie you up and make you read it! :)~(Good luck on the test!)

LOL THX! My professor is letting me take it early because it is my daughters 2nd birthday on Wednesday and I wanna have ppl over for cake! So now I gotta cram!

OK, Donna you are granted a reprieve, but heed Jenni's words about Thursday. Hehehe. Good luck on your test, and I hope you have a wonderful birthday day on Wednesday for your precious daughter!

I am overwhelmed by all of the books I want to start, so last night I picked up a collection of short stories, Strange Brew with one of its featured authors being Charlaine Harris. I started her story, "Bacon" last night before I feel asleep and will finish it today. I still have to pick a book to start. I'm leaning towards An Unpardonable Crime (entitled The American Boy in the UK) by Andrew Taylor. My bed has about a dozen books on it from which I choosing my next read. Arghhhhhhhhhhh!

I am reading Records Management Making the Transition From Paper to Electronic because I have a test tomorrow!

I'm currently listening to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and am still reading Dragonfly in Amber... I really do like Dragonfly, but I've had no reading time. I'm pretty close to the end - about 400 ereader pages away!

I was trying to block out the snoring last night from both the baby and my husband so I actually listen to an audio book. I listened to 11 chapters of Ten Days in a Mad-House.

Niiice! I do like audio books for my HUGE (haha!) 20 minute commute each way. The average 9-10 cd audio book takes about three weeks to get through.

I can never listen to an audio book but I try a lot! This is one of my many attempts but last night it worked some how!

OK so tomorrow I guess I will start both The Help and Olive Kitteridge.
Olive Kitteridge is a work book club read and we are meeting next week and I have to read book:The Help|4667024] because i don't like being tied up! ;-)

Listening to it might be a good way for me to get it in, if I can find it at our library. What do you think of it?

I'm halfway thru Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. Its written so well it blooms to life. Some of the quotes and descriptions are so beautiful, I'm praising it already!
