Nah, the problem is that its just a trilogy but a TV series was made out of it so I don't know.

The first book actually popped right in my mind. But it's true, if you google it, it's very easy to find :) Try different combinations with the clues. :)

Its where a new author is hired to continue a series of books, as a stand-in for the original author. it often doesn't go well though. its difficult for another author to emulate someone else.

Oh, one GOOD example of this is that Wheel of Times series.
. The author died halfway through the series and it is one of those astronomically long and complicated sci-fi series like Lord of the Rings. A new author took over though but most of the fans think he did a really good job and are happy with it. He used the author's notes and his family helped etc.
Err, isn't the "ghost" term offensive to those authors who substituted? :O

I wouldn't consider The Wheel of Time as being ghostwritten because Brandon Sanderson is credited on the books he wrote. Ghostwriters usually aren't given any kind of acknowledgement. Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys are good examples(and every other Stratemeyer Syndicate series), since Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon aren't real people.

Brandon Sanderson didn't want acknowledgement though. He made the publishers write the "real" author's name on the actual books...
Yeah, I hate how Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys are done like that. Some authors really butcher those series! :"(

It helped that Brandon Sanderson is just a wonderful author. He was also a friend of the family. Robert Jordan knew he would die before finishing the series, so he wrote extensive notes for Sanderson to work with.

Really, I didn't know that. That's weird and a little sad. Of course, they couldn't, very well, leave Jordan off, as it is his world. I haven't made it to Sanderson's work on the series, yet. I'm still working on the third book.
Question on Round 13:
Does the girl have to be holding the dagger, or can it be hanging off of a belt, or something?
