She put Sam in there!!! Love it! "We currently enjoy the hospitality of the local smith, a gentleman named Heughan."
I noticed the Heughan reference too, but I'd heard she was going to include him so I was looking for it.Did anyone else cry while reading about the weddings? I started tearing up when Jenny looked next to herself imagining Ian (Sr.) there. I've always been particularly fond of both Ians.
I didn't know she was going to put him in. I wonder what other little bits she put in?I thought the weddings were beautiful. Ian and Rachel are so good together!
it was great to see the smith's name. I was totally into it. Reading very slowly (for me) and enjoying.
Why did they let Rachel go look for Ian alone? Lucky for her she only ran into William instead of someone else who would harm her. Also William should just let those stupid girls go, I am getting frustrated with them ugh!

I'm not real enamored with Jane, but I do think it's interesting how William is mirroring Jamie in some ways. The William-Jane relationship reminds me a bit of the Jamie-French woman scenario.
Hi Kimberly. I never even thought of Jamie and the French woman but I think you have a great point. Even though William doesn't want to see any resemblances between himself and Jamie, they're definitely there.

Rachael, look at Ellen Fraser's full name in the Family Tree!

And there's Claire!!! Wonderful!
Thanks!
This was a tough section my heart just broke for Jamie when Claire was shot I know that was very tough on him. And for Claire to be the patient was I'm sure tough on her too. The weddings were sweet and all but by the end of this section I was more than ready to go back and see what is going on with Bree & Roger.

Please help me: I've got this "Sam" reference here, but who is he and where do the rest of you know him from?
I loved this Pt.5, for me definitely the best, so far. Now looking very much forward to re-encounter Bree and Roger!
Kim, Sam Heughan will star as Jamie in the new Outlander tv series. It starts in August, so far in US, Canada, Australia, but sadly, not in Britain yet.....even though its filmed there!

But anyway, now I know I did not miss a character of the series. Are there any details to this series among this discussion group?
hmm, I think there is a thread about the Starz series. I also follow the DG Facebook page, so I get confused about what I read and where.
my favorite quotes from this section have to be "yes.but I do know how.im a physician." and everything Ditties says after that just made me laugh about Claire previous conversation of "oh God"
and I chuckled at Williams comment about falling off the otherside.
I picked it up on our blacksmith Sam the man! Wink*'I just loved loved the ending of MOBY it was bloody brilliant!!!!
i feel like the ending was so typical, and i DO feel left hanging!!!! not on a cliff, but DANG! i have been reading these books for 22 years...i am afraid i am going to die before i know the ending of all the story lines, and before i know how jamie was at the B & B in book one....and now to wait five more years???
I loved the ending. It made me tear up. Beautiful and sweet. Much easier to wait than it was at the end of Echo.

How often have Hal (John's brother) and Jamie met? He must have been the one who "saved" him after Culloden (did not let him get executed) becaused he or rather his brother owed him a life. But have they seen each other or talked after that? When William gets hit on the head Hal asks him if he can still sing/hear music because he knows someone who could not hear music anymore after being hit on the head. Does he mean Jamie? But how would he know?
In 'the Scottish prisoner'. One of my favorite in the 'lord john' novellas. And yes, It is Hal that saves him after Culloden. I love John and Hal! They are truly honorable men and lots of fun to get to know when they turn up in the series!
