As they neared the falls, a constant roaring and tumbling inhabited the air. It was strong but not scary, with a sense of invitation to the droning sound. When the reached the crest of the hill, a series of falls dropped water down a cliff face and finally into a swift stream. "Here we are m'lady." Mareth said when she caught sight of the magnificent wonder.
She caught up to him and soon her eyes widened with the sight of beauty upon her. She looked at the magnificent sight, adoring what was before her. Her lips turned upwards into a smile brighter than any other. It truely was a sight. "It's magnificent." She said
Mareth, who had seen it before, stared in wonder at the incredible spectacle. Little compared to its beauty, as it was almost impossible to be so pure and natural as it. Only one thing came to mind in fact. Ingrid. He looked at her and saw her flowing hair and natural smile, almost similar to the falls. Only she could compare.
"I love it here." She said quietly when she looked at him and then the falls again. "It's really so spectacular, Iv never seen such beauty before." She said, her heart full of love and beauty for the view
"It is truly timeless. It never ceases to amaze. Kind of like someone I know." He said slyly, giving her a wink. She looked amazing with her eyes full of wonder and the wind whipping her hair out of her face. ((So so so so so so so so sorry. I totally forgot this one. I feel terrible!))
((Don't stress)She blushed gently when she looked st him as he talked about her, she didn't think she was anything special. "Your are too kind mareth." She said gently
"And you are too modest love." He said. As they looked at the waterfall, the sun came out in all of its blazing glory, starting to heat up the field. Mareth got an idea, "Cmon, lets have some fun." He said, taking off his shirt and kicking his shoes and socks. He then gave Ingrid a crooked smile and then ran to the pool, jumping into the cool refreshing water.
Shebwatched him with a confused expression, what was he doing, where was he going. As he ran towards the pool she laughed gently, should she join him? She smiled softly and took her dress off and shoes then ran towards the pool also
Mareth smiled as he watched Ingrid jump into the water sending up a splash. Mareth cheered and said, "I was not sure if you would actually do it! I am impressed I will admit." She splashed him a little and earned a hearty laugh from him as he splashed her a bit back.
She laughed gently as she resurfaced and looked at him, smiling genuinely happy. "I wasn't sure if I would do it also." She said
Mareth was delighted that she had joined him and he replied to her comment saying, "well I'm glad you did. Now, cmon! Let's swim under the falls!" He started swimming towards the waterfall, taking even long strokes.
She giggled again, happily, she felt so free, happy and alive after the past few days of hell she had been in. She watched him then began and swam over also, swimming towards the gushing sound of water
Behind the waterfall was a little alcove that had been carved out from years of water wearing at the rocks. Mareth swam to it and hoisted himself onto the rock landing, then waited for Ingrid to appear. "Cmon, I wanna show you something more!" He called.
Ingrid appeared just beyond the waterfall and looked at him, she smiled gently as she hoisted herself up and followed him. "Where are you taking me?"
"Well, just come see for yourself." He replied, taking her hand and leading her to the back of a cavern. He smiled as he saw a small opening and went through it. As they entered, Ingrid stopped walking and just stared. The chamber they had entered was a room full of crystals of all shapes and colors. A tiny crack of sunlight poured in from a small hole in the roof, bathing the place in sparkles and gleaming gems. "This is what I wanted to show you." He said softly.
She didn't think anything else could get better than what she had seen already, it was all so magical and like a dream. She held his hand, wondering down deeper into the cavern, when he went through the small opening she did also until she stopped, itbwas all so beautiful, glistening from the sun light that came through, her eyes were wide and he smile grew even bigger "It... I ... oh." She said completely gobsmacked and speechless
Mareth was happy that she liked it and said, "here, watch this." He walked over to a particularly large crystal formation and used the pommel of his sword to knock off a fist sized chunk of glittering crystal. He picked it up and then walked over to Ingrid, holding it out to her.
Ingrid laughed gently as her eyes once again widened and her mouth dropped open "woah.. oh wow it's really beautiful." She said, laughing with a gentle smile again "it's beautiful."
Mareth was happy that Ingrid was wowed by the cavern. "Well, that's all the tricks I've got up my sleeve. This is the meadow and all of its little features. You are now the second person to know about it that is still alive." He said dramatically, then breaking into a laugh.
She laughed gently and smiled at him happily, gently leaning forward and kissing his cheek "thank you mareth, very much."
"It was my pleasure. I needed someone to share this place with and the Vikings... well, they don't appreciate stuff like this. Not in the way I do." He replied softly with a grin.
She nodded gently when she looked at him once again "your not like the Vikings." She said sweetly. "It's nice. Comforting." She said
Mareth smiled at her comment and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Well, we better get back so I can prepare some dinner. Are you ready to go?" He asked her.
She smiled with a soft nod, looking at him "yes I am ready." She said happily "thank you for today." She said
"Hey, no problem Ingrid. And really, I should be thanking you. I do not know how much I could stand it if you would have said yes to that other man." Said marathon candidly.
She smiled with a small blush "he did not seem very nice nor the man I wish to be with." She told him as they walked out from the cave
"Well lucky me! Cmon, let's get back to the horses." He said with a wink, jumping back into the water and swimming under the waterfall back to the horses.
When they got back to the horses, Mareth was surprised to see a deer bounding through the meadow, moving with a unique grace. When Ingrid got out, Mareth pointed out the deer as it slipped into the woods. "Did you see that?" He asked, a quizzical look on his face because deer usually were found in groups.
Ingrid looked at mareth after he had pointed the deer out, she only saw a very small glimpse of the deer as it moved quickly "what was that?" She asked him
"Just a deer. That's funny, I don't see too much of them here, maybe it's just a lucky day." He responded, still looking at the spot where the deer had disappeared into the forest. That's when he saw the grass behind the deer moving and he could make out large k nine shapes moving stealthily through the tall grasses at the edge of the meadow. Immediately he ducked and brought Ingrid with him. A pack of wolves could be bad news for them.
She was a bit confused when he happened to pull her down into a duck and forced her to the ground, she looked to where he was looking though she was a hunter so didn't know what to look for.
Dawson was not fond of wolves as past experiences while hunting deer had provided him with countless encounters with the animals. He watched as the wolves disappeared after the deer. "Thank god, there were wolves just over there. Sneaky little bastards could've meant some really bad news. Come, let us take to our horses and head home." He explained.
She got back up and brushed herself down of any dust. "That's not any good. Let us go." She agreed with him and began to head back to their horses again
They mounted up and were off in no time, Mareth smiling as Ingrid pulls ahead of him with her new steed. Mareth was pretty impressed at how well Ingrid could ride and he called out to her saying, "You look like you've ridden quite a bit!"
Ingrid looked back at mareth with a very large smile on her face as her hair blew around in the air and wind. "I love horses very much." She said to him
She looked incredible with her hair blowing in the wind and her smile seemingly adding more light to the already sunny day. "Im Glad! It looks like horses like you too!" He called back.
She laughed softly and smiled happily when she continued to allow her horse to gallop along. "I love them also."
Smiling, Mareth followed close behind her all the way towards the village. When they got there, Mareth was happy to find that his little hut had not been tampered with by his adversary. "Well, did you enjoy our time out?" He asked as the dismounted.
She looked at him as she also dismounted her horse, gently rubbing its side and smiling softly "it was a lot of fun, thank you very much." She said to him happily
Mareth beamed at her and was happy to hear that she had enjoyed herself. "I'm quite tired Ingrid, I might go and rest my eyes. I do not always get up to so much activity!" He said happily.
She smiled with a gentle laugh and nod "I am rather tired too." She said to him, looking at her horse and smiling softly. "I should rest also."
Mareth smiled and secured the horses. One he finished, he walked up behind Ingrid and wrapped her in a hug, and then he picked her up with a laugh, cradling her in his arms. "Cmon, lets go get a nap." He managed through a laugh.
She gasped with a soft squeal as he hugged then picked her up, soon it turned to s gentle laugh and smile. "Mareth." She said laughing
He carried her into the house despite her playful protests. Mareth closed the door and then went into his room, setting unfriend down gently on the bed. "You take the bed Ingrid, I will take the floor." Mareth said, assuming their regular sleeping areas.
Ingrid looked at him after she sat up, giggling a little more. "Are you sure? You do not wish to share?" She asked him
Mareth was a bit caught off guard by her suggestion, but he smiled to himself. "If you don't mind I would love that." He said, walking back to the edge of the bed and laid next to her with a sigh of relief.
She looked at him with a gentle smile, a little nervous but happy to be sleeping next to him. "I would love it also." She told him
