I that put all the Treads at the top of this page I hope that is what you wanted let me know if that is not what you meant :)
I have not chosen any books for May yet other than Belgarath the Sorcerer by David Eddings as it is the oldest book on my to read list. Let me know if you have a book you would like to buddy read.

message 12: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments I would like to think we can complete at least one Game but never having been in a fun group before I'm not sure how many books you are all likely to get through in a month. We have 37 categories for each Game. 7 members in the group = just over 5 books each. I would like to suggest we all pick 5 books from the first game unless you know that is too many for you. Please be open and honest if you feel its beyond what you have planned to read so that those who do read more can fill up the gaps where possible.

Gillian, about the threads, that was what I wanted... I think it helps having all the threads on the top of the page, so we don't have to go and look for it, if we need it.

About the reading... I'll honestly say that I read only like a book for a week... so, realistically I'll be able to read 4 books for this Challenge, (maybe 5 if it is a quick read or if I find a bit more of free time).

And, even thought I really like your strategy of each teammate completing 5 books/descriptions, the reality is that in fun teams some of the people who sign up, never do appear or participate. (I have had that experience in my fun teams, but I'd love that it wasn't the case here).

So maybe we should see how many books each member thinks they can read for the Challenge (some will easily read more books than others) and, then, pick descriptions to complete?!

Just an idea, we can always wait and see what our other teammates think... they can have other strategies :)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments Thats exactly the information I was after, I expect some will only read 1 but its handy if we know that at the start so those that do read a lot can try to work with that info. A lot of people don't turn up in the serious groups either its rare to have them all read the 12 book minimum.

message 15: by Vivi (last edited Apr 26, 2017 09:15AM) (new)

Vivi | 1374 comments I'm thinking about reading these:
Running Barefoot by Amy Harmon Wake Me Up Inside (Mates #1) by Cardeno C. It Had To Be You (Crystal Valley, #2) by Melissa Kate The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson

1. Running Barefoot - for "author or character's name starts with A" (part 1) or "title starts with R" (part 3)

2. Wake Me Up Inside - for "earth/soil or brown cover" (part 1) or "animal on the cover" (part 1)

3. It Had To Be You - for "food on the cover" (part 2) or "title starts with I - Jumanji" (end)

4. The Art of Being Normal - for "about bullying" (part 1) or " B, A and T in title" (part 1)

Maybe someone wants to BR and we can use the same book for 2 different descriptions?

message 16: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments Let me see if I can get any of them.

message 18: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments I have these books planned for buddy reads in May that could fit some challenges:

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson - book about bullying
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton - Book with character starting with A
And I Darken (The Conqueror's Saga, #1) by Kiersten White - book with flowers on the cover

I can do these books with some of you if your interested too? otherwise I am buddy reading them as well next month so its all good if no one wants to. Also if other people have books for those challenges I'm happy to not use them for the challenge as well :)

message 19: by Ambisaurus (new)

Ambisaurus Rex (ambisaur) | 155 comments Hi,
I've never done the jumanji challenge before but I think I could manage reading 5 books in a month just as long as I can find enough books to fit the categories.

Abby H checking in!

message 21: by Vivi (last edited Apr 28, 2017 07:42AM) (new)

Vivi | 1374 comments Hi Abby, welcome!

How many books do you think you can read in this challenge/month?

message 22: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments I could probably read 4 if 3 of them were the ones I mentioned above as they are planned already with other buddy reads. So I am open to trying to buddy read a book with someone if I can get my hands on it, or trying to fit another challenge?

message 23: by Vivi (last edited Apr 29, 2017 01:38AM) (new)

Vivi | 1374 comments Guys, maybe we should start deciding who gets which description to complete?! (So that we don't have duplicates on the descriptions.)

I'm gonna start my May reads with The Art of Being Normal, I have a BR set for May 2nd.

I can use the book for any of the following descriptions:
※ B,A,T on title
※ about bullying (I've Seen Shae already has a book for this description)
※ title starts with A - for JUMANJI
※ a BR

Let me know which of these descriptions above you have a book for (that you're gonna read), so that I know what description to take over, okay?!

message 24: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments If everyone adds them to the google sheet we can see where we have double ups then we can work on which ones we need to move around.

message 26: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments can we use one book for more than one description?

message 27: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments A book may fit in multiple places but you can only use it book once for each member

message 28: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments use a descriptor once for each member or a book? should I be looking at all the descriptors one book can fit?

message 29: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments Both

message 30: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments Just put your books in any free spots for now if we end up with more than 1 book in a position we can then look at moving them around as I doubt we will get more than 1 round done

message 31: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments I noticed in the spreadsheet you put the book only in one descriptor? should I be putting my books in the spreadsheet? I am confused haha!
Also when are you starting assassins apprentice? I may want to BR

message 32: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments I'm going to bed now I will check first thing in the morning if any one needs authority to the google sheet. I did set it to share without but it doesn't seem to be working

message 33: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments Yes please add your books even if they only fit in the same place that already has one as it will take a little shuffling to get it all sorted so the sooner we have everyone's in the better. I can read assassin apprentice any time you like

message 34: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments no worries, I have been able to add my books now. Let me know in the morning about assassins apprentice. I would like to try and add other books, but think ill try and do them once I get the ones I said done :)

message 35: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments do you read more than one book at a time? If so maybe we can break the book up over two weeks or something to break it down so we can also focus on other books. Completely understand if that isn't how you read and if that's the case we can pick a date and go from there, I might not be as quick that's all :)

message 36: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Murrell | 3686 comments I tend to start the month reading more than one book so its not a problem to read that way for assassin's apprentice. We can put it down for the 1st and then take our time with it. Is that ok with you if so I will ask for a thread.

message 37: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments yeh that works perfect for me :) Thanks heaps!

message 38: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments I wonder if flawless by Sara shepherd could count for an author by the name of Sarah. It's the same name, just different spelling. I am meant to read that next month too so could count it if it works

I'll definitely be reading A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas and Daughter of Deep Silence by Carrie Ryan

message 46: by Gillian (new)
