Hello everyone! :D Winter and I worked very well yesterday on finding a solution. I hope the way we have set things up will work with everyone. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
As our first tid bit of information, I've gathered a possible alternative to those who are reading from a hard copy.
The hard cover book is 348 pages long (according to Goodreads). In this version, if you were to divide it in 4 sections it would be 87 pages per section.
I will do more research soon on how the sections end according to the "chapter" by pages for both the hard cover and kindle version. The hard copy will take longer, sorry! I'll get back soon!

Happy May 1st every! Fresh starts, a new book, and a different genre compared to the other GR novels this year.I'm excited and I hope everyone else is! I will be starting my copy soon, but I wanted to pop in and say hello. :)

I'm a little confused about how the discussion of the book is being divided but I wanted to post a comment. I'm already a third of the way into it and I just started it yesterday (I'm reading the hard copy) . I think the fact that the protagonists are black and Korean add a freshness to what is essentially a timeless story. I'm finding it a fast read so far.

I've had a busy week and haven't been able to go back and post the divisons for the hard copy. I'm already on page 126, so well past page 87 :D No worries. It's not the most deepest or intense book, but not all books have to be. It's cute.
I like this book so far. I like getting the viewpoints from each character in "real time" if that makes sense? Like, instead of a lot of time going by before you get to the other character, it's just a few minutes and you can see how each of them respond to each other right away.I also like the little mini-chapters about the other people that appear for just a minute or two. I like that the author brings other people's stories into the foreground, if only for a couple of paragraphs.

As for others; thoughts, opinions, or questions about how it jumps to characters? Everyone doing ok on keeping character recognition straight?
Im liking the book so far. Its not something I would usually read so Im glad I have been taken out of my comfort zone. I was a little confused about the book until about 20 pgs before I stopped reading but now Im really into it. I cant wait to continue with the book now.
I agree with SarahKat. I actually quite like the mini chapters jumping between people. It's nice to see things from their perspective almost immediately. I also like the little breaks to give some background on other characters like Irene. We're not just left to wonder, even if the protagonists are.I did find occasionally I mixed up characters. I was reading it so quickly that sometimes when it was an 'I said', or I thought, I had to just double check who it was. The characters are distinctive enough, but I was just zooming through.

I've read romance novels before (many times actually!), but never a contemporary novel. So We/I will have to see what happens. :)

I also like the little breaks to give some ..."I was reading rather quickly myself! :) I happened to look away from the text Saturday, and realized I was at 29% finished when I left work on Friday at 7% lol! It is very fast, which I like. I've been slacking on my reading so maybe this will help me jump start things.

It makes the pages turn quickly as lots of them end part way through a page, but also it's so easy to carry on and read just one more, and just one more...and just one more!
I really like the format of this book. There are several characters with their own story within the main story. It is a fast paced read. There is enough detail to get a visual image of what is happening and what the characters are thinking. I like some tv shows / movies but this book is why I like to read over watching a story. You not only know what the dialogue is between characters, you also find out their thoughts as well. Really enjoying this book.
You know that part when you say to yourself while reading other novels that, "Hmm, I want to know more about this minor character, he/she deserves a chapter for himself"?Well, this novel, got that on point. I'm amazed.
Great thoughts everyone. :)I like the minor character chapters too, John Warren. :) I think they are well thought out for just being a page or two because they are so short, it makes you think "WHOA! Dang that's it???" And you just want to continue on lol.

Yes! Wise and short. Albeit brief, those anecdotes are on the perfect length.
So I just started this book and came here to see how everyone liked it in the beginning. Glad to see people are liking it as much as I. I really really like the short "chapters" as it keeps my short attention span on track.

(I work at a place that gets busier when the seasons change)
So sneaking in literally 1-2 pages every so often has helped me get into this book. I'm not as far as I wish I could be, but we'll get there :)
So far, I like it, and the author's effort to individualize the chapters is good. I'm not having trouble keeping individuals separate. It's a quick read!
I almost took a pass on this months group read as I've recently read four books that can be loosely categorized as romance (Outlander, two by Elizabeth Peters, and a book about Eleanor of Aquitaine) and had reached my limit for "mushy" books for awhile. Not really my forte. But I am glad that I jumped into this one anyway. Really enjoying it and love the insights into things in mixes in with the story.

It's been a very fast month of May and it's been a quick read for many. I on the other hand have taken way to long to finish it, but that's alright. I'm still determined to get there within the next week :)
As you can see the dividing isn't chapters or parts as usual due to the chapters in the book being the same names multiple times. In the end we decided to divide the pages from the kindle version (the version Taylor will read) into 4. This means the numbers aren't exact and it will make it easier for spoilers to surface so please be considerate and mark them.
