Mickey walks a very fine line in defending Louis and setting him up to be prosecuted for Martha Rentaria's murder so Jesus could be freed. Did he go too far at any time? Did he do the right thing or could he have handled anything differently?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I don't know what else he could have done. If he went to the police with the information, he would have kissed his career goodbye. As far as getting Roulet off the hook for the Campo assault, he did his job. And, he didn't tell the cop on the Rentaria case why he had subpoenaed him to court. Everything worked out, except for the fact that the police arrested Roulet too soon and didn't have enough evidence to hold him.

I thought about this a lot and believe he went as far as he ethically could and stretched the limits by issuing the subpoena to the detective assigned to the Rentaria murder. Louis saw right through it but what could he say without incriminating himself. Law enforcement certainly wasn't going to stick up for him. It was clever but dangerous on many levels.
