I'd like to share a few books u may enjoy and authors who have become my favs. Scott Pratt he is similar to John Grisham. If u start with his books start with the innocent client. It's a whole series. You will love those. And Janet Evanovich has a series called O'Hare adventure series she Co authors with Lee Goldberg. U may enjoy this as well romance/witty humor. Jeffrey Archer - NOt a penny more not a penny less, Bryan Devore - THe Paris Protection & Price of Innocence. I am not your negro, Remember this House, (both non-fiction) by James Baldwin. (OMG he is incredible) The Bluegrass Conspiracy by Sally Denton. I just finished this one it's based on true events right here in Kentucky. Dark Highway - Ann Dangelo. (Based on true story of murder and revenge in the 30s right here in Kentucky. One of my clients told me of this one. Her dad served on the jury of the trial. Haven't read this one yet but it's next on my list. I'm told it's a real page Turner and I love anything that's based on a true story.

Hope you all have an amazing day!

message 14: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Chen (catherinechen) | 1 comments Hi, Lovely People! I'm Catherine Chen, I'm always inspired to read and driven to write, love fiction, memoir and biography. As a Chinese American female, I always want to disclose how much the one-child policy in China and the Asian culture that favored the sons instead of daughters hurt the current generation of China. My last trip back to China that really shocked me is that I noticed most orphans are girls in those orphanages in China. It's so sad to see this, as myself, who also suffered from this just simply because I was born as a girl in China. Luckily my mother raised me to be a brave girl, she really wanted to prove to my father that a girl can be as good as a boy, or even better. I eventually decided to write my debut novel. The Favored Son, tells story about this through a fiction story.

Hi! My name is Marianne! I'm a medical secretary by day, but an artist outside of work. I sing, play piano, dance, act, paint, sew, and scrapbook. I enjoy being creative and of course read! Reading has been there for me like a good friend. With a hot cup of tea/coco, I enjoy reading at any moment during the day! I carry a book with me everywhere I go! So excited to be apart of Oprah's Book Club, even if I have my own reading list of over 3,000 books! I look forward to reading great works and discussing them with new friends!

lisa | 2 comments Hi, my name is Aisha and I have Schizophrenia Affective Bipolar Disorder. I made a conscious decision to spend my time reading. By doing so I have managed to cut down on my prolific spending while in my Manic episodes or by habit. I don't get out much. However, I find with books I can travel the world right in the confines of my home. I am looking forward to participation in this group. Thanks

My name is Naya, an avid reader from the DR with a busy life that has unfortunately impacted my reading habits; I'm trying to get back on the horse so to speak since it helps me unwind like few things can. I'm a pretty broad reader, I'll read anything although I tend to favor fiction and I'm a bit biased against self help stuff. Love to be here, and hear from you all.

SHARON DELGADO | 3 comments I'm Sharon Delgado and I'm glad to be a part of this online community. I'm in rural Northern California. I've been reading lots of nonfiction because I've been writing some serious stuff, but I love novels--it's a way of taking a vacation for me. And I often go to Oprah's lists to choose new novels. I blog at Progressive Christian Social Action at sharondelgado.org. I've got the new book on order at the library.

message 32: by Onyebuchi (new)

Onyebuchi | 4 comments Hi! My name is Onyebuchi Mbakwe, an avid reader, books reviewer and creative writer. I am a Nigerian. I love reading biographies and novels. By virtue of reading, I have met a lot of great men and women who I ordinarily would not have met in person; and have by extension tapped into their reservoir of knowledge. When you stop reading you stop growing. It is my privilege to be here.

message 33: by Sivkishen (new)

Sivkishen Sivkishen (professionalreviewer) | 6 comments I am the author of original research work titled Quest of Olympias: Classical History of Alexander the Great.
‘Quest of Olympias’ is a disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and perception. It’s amazing that some of us were not aware of these historical facts about Queen Olympias but the author earnestly unfolded the facts by “lifting the veil” of ancient history and dealt well with the most accurate firsthand account of her history in a fascinating story form. This is a definitive guide to the life of Queen Olympias played a major role in Greek political history and furnished a detailed account her, which makes the reader readers move beyond the competency of intellectualism that occupies the heart This truly offers surprising insights into a great historical Queen Olympias and her son Alexander the great about which it seems so much, yet so little, is actually known. This paves the way for the readers to once again rethink out distant past. Read now with wonder to know interesting “revelation” about the exceptional Queen Olympias and an absolute must for every admirer of Alexander the Great!
