It's weird as a reread because I know the answers regarding who killed Simon. Less mystery and urgency yet I am loving the characters even more this time through; I get to focus on learning them better and appreciating them rather than trying to solve the mystery. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Something about Simons behavior made me suspicious of him in the beginning as did his friend. While I didn’t like Jake and didn’t trust him I didn’t really see him as suspicious. (view spoiler)[Unfortunately I wasn’t surprised about Simon and had a feelin about him since the beginning. The way he spoke and the things he did coupled with him being this investigative reporter just gave me a feeling. I’m still not clear on how he ‘knew’ so much.
I think the book in hindsight touched on quite a few sensitive issues from school shooting, suicide and more. I feel the worst for Connor, but in a way the group of them had a chance of redemption, to own up to their mistakes and make amends. I did expect another bomb to drop and surprised nothing else came to be. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Women are always changing their hair after a bad break up hah! I mean, I've done it plenty of times myself. I adore how strong Addy is slowly becoming now that she isn't under Jake's thumb constantly. And I really like her and her sister starting to get closer.

Even though this is a reread and I know the end result, the tension of the whole thing is still fantastic. I also find it fun to pick up on things/see things differently now that I know the outcome. (hide spoiler)]

What are your thoughts so far, Catrin? I'm currently at chapter 16.

For now, the students seem all to have a reason to have done it, but who is the person that keeps updating the gossip? It's interesting to see that the students do not have much in common, but due to the circumstances they're growing near to each other. (hide spoiler)]

I've finished chapter 17:
(view spoiler)[So Nate and Bronwyn are an item. Obvious and not so obvious: smart girl gets together with the boy who's a bit bad. It's strange that only Bronwyn is actively investigating what has happened to the 4 of them. The others are busy with the impact it has on their personal lives and lets the investigation taken care of by their lawyers. It's good that Addy is starting to think about herself and not as being an object of Jake. I wonder if Maeve has something to to with Simon or his death. She's been following him before his death too. And what about Janae? Were she and Simon an item? (hide spoiler)]

First quarter - (view spoiler)[The cast of characters stuck in detention are very cliched but I love that about them. Each has a hidden side to them which is soon to be discovered though. One cheated on a test, one on her boyfriend, and one in his sport. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[The tragedy has made a new side to each of their characters become revealed and I like seeing them grow closer to each other. It is also like their true selves is more evident now, compared to the face they previously presented to the rest of the school. Bronwyn is less straight-laced with Nate and he is less aggressive with her. Cooper is softer and more caring with Addy and she isn't as unsure of herself with him. (hide spoiler)]

Second quarter - (view spoiler)[I'm actually really glad Jake and Addy have broken up. She did cheat, which was bad, and he does have a right to be angry about that, but he was manipulative and controlling and I'm enjoying seeing her become her own person again. I feel sorry for her sister and her failed marriage, too.

The growing closer makes me want to think that perhaps they're all innocent, but I'm not really sure about all that. (hide spoiler)]

I like that Addy is over Jake, he's kind of an asshole. That reminds me, I suspect Jake. For what motive, I'm not sure, but I still do. And Cooper. He seems like he had the most to lose.
I am starting to suspect Maeve, but not a lot? I'd be pretty happy, or at least indifferent, if she's behind it.
