Hector Altamirano | 4 comments Hi guys. A couple of months ago I read The Gunslinger and liked it a lot. Then after hearing about the movies and that they're not going to be following the books order, I decided to read them all as soon as possible. Now I'm half way through DT2. Anyone else reading for the first time? Wanna be buddies?

mrbooks | 1469 comments Sorry hector I have read the series twice now so I'm not new to it. I will warn you every time you read the series you will learn something new.

Bailey Crawly (baileycrawly) | 8 comments I just finished the drawing of the three tonight! I only ever read to about halfway though the waste lands so it's partially a first-time read for me. I'm not reading because of the movie though as I doubt I'll bother to see it. I'm just reading because everyone says how great it is and, as a king fan, I really want to be able to say I read it. I can even say it's pretty great so far!

mrbooks | 1469 comments Remember this is Stephen King who wrote it of course it's a great read. Just wish I could read for the first time again, but can't take away what has already been read.

Bailey Crawly (baileycrawly) | 8 comments Well actually I hated The Gunslinger. It was okay in its original version but this "revised and Expanded" business just didn't do it for me. Too much unnecessary detail for my tastes. It even uses later terminology that isn't even described until the second and third books. It's a great way to leave your readers feeling out of the loop at the beginning of a long series 😂
That being said, I'm 25% through book 3 and am feeling a sense of the big quest that is still ahead. Book 2 was average at best to me but book 3 is a 4/5 for me so far, it's holding my interest a lot better so far.

Jessica | 52 comments Currently reading The Dark Tower series for the second time and loving even more than the first time! Started over because I wanted to experience the entire series again before I see the movie (which I can hardly wait to watch!) I'm currently reading Wolves of the Calla but would love a Dark Tower discussion with anyone currently enjoying the series! Add me as a friend or send a message! :)

Hector Altamirano | 4 comments It's been awesome so far. Almost done with Drawing of the three. I wish I would have more time to read but I'm managing with the little commutes I have to university every day and back. I've nearly missed my stops on the bus once or twice. It's a really engaging book. Loving it.

Bailey Crawly (baileycrawly) | 8 comments The next book is even better! I think so anyway, I'm only just under halfway through it

Book 5 in the series, are you also going to read wind through the Key Hole ? I really like this series and after I meet my goal for the year I will go back and re-read the series. I put my goal for the year at a modest 34 books, new books that is. I am now on book 22 and will finish that by Thursday.

I wish I could read it on my commute, but as I am driving it would be rather difficult. My wife won't let me listen to audio books on the way to work.
