(WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!) I noticed that alot people hated the plot twist at the end of the book. So I just wondering do you think its possible that Maddy could have had a happy ending even if she was still sick because I was thinking about it. I think it is possible for someone who has severe allergies to have a good life however, life would be very difficult for the person and they would probably feel very limited. I don't think I could have handled a sad ending because I like and enjoy hopeful endings. I like stories that express and show there is hope in this world even when it seems there is no hope. I believe in miracles and something beyond what we know but some people don't. but in the case of the plot twist she was not sick at all which kinda made the whole drama seemingly nonexistent. I think if i wrote the book I would have had her really be sick but still have a happy ending. Maybe she could have possibly found a cure or found a better way to live normally without being exposed so many germs. I have heard of babies being cured of SCID but never grown people. So I don't know if a cure ending could have worked. What do you guys think?

Well I'd have researched scid and realised they are treated by bone marrow transplant at an early age . And is often successful.
They can actually also leave their homes with masks and epipens.

Of course the author didn't even research basic decontamination methods. .....
Or the mental affects of being isolated your entire life...she would have suffered of severe agrophobia if she left.
And any foods that were heavily spiced etc would likely have been vommited up, as the digestive system would be unprepared for a full meal of it.
She would not jave enjoyed the smell of jet fuel and would more likely be coughing and struggling to breathe, being unused to any such level of pollution. It happens to people who go from the country to a really busy airport. The air is heavy and very very uncomfortable.

All that aside, the book was advertised as representing someone with a severe disability and as such, it should have stayed that way.
I would not have given Maddy a normal life. But to keep the romance, perhaps Olly could have taken more of a role in her life and home.

If I wrote the book, I would probably have Maddy's mom enter a science field and try to find a way to cure Maddy. I'd make the cure not work completely, but somewhat, so Maddy can go outside for short periods of time-say, a half hour-without getting sick, but she's still sick, just better. The rest of the book I'd keep the same, though.

I wouldn't have changed the ending. I loved the end and it made the book worth reading. The ending isn't predictable and that is what I liked about it. I wouldn't change a thing.

I don't think I would have had a good enough idea to be able to write this. The end was amazing. I loved it. I normally hate the ending. This one was beautiful. I was half laughing and half crying.

I like the ending, but I kind of saw it coming. I get that it was probably too convenient, too much of a tidy, happy ending for some people though.

if wrote Everything everything i would change the ending by first off not happing the brake up with maddy and olly and i would use the ending idea with a bit more facts when they see each other again in New york.

I would not change the ending because after the mother lost her husband it is very possible for her to go into a state of shock and become extremely overprotective of her daughter. Based on the mothers previous medical knowledge its possible for her to come up with an extreme case for her daughter and give her a reason to believe that her daughter needed extreme security measures taken to protect her. With this in mind I think the ending of this book is very reasonable, the only thing I don't really understand is when Maddy leaves. It seems as if she finds out about this information her mother was hiding from her and takes off forever. I feel like to make this book more realistic I think the author needs to elaborate more on her gathering her stuff and more interaction with her mother before she just takes off to leave the state. I mean she is still a minor and doesn't really have money, an id or anything of that sort because she has been trapped inside for so long so how does this process of leaving work out for her?
